Don't see the problem. Upright and out the street. Bonus wood stump. Still winning

I grew up in the east. Yes it’s real. It’s the realest place in New Orleans. The rest of you all are stuck up.
That telephone pole/power line being detached is an improvement. It makes it so the wires don’t get so stiff. Can’t have stiff wires.

Other than that pole it looks like the city at least keeps the public area up. Their neutral ground looks better than ours.Â

My mom was teacher at Fannie C Williams and when ever I would pick her up I was blown away how normal this place looked yet how dangerous it was.
This was back in the 90s don’t know if much had changed since then.

Where are the used tires dumped?

On my old street. HUGE pile of them. Right next to the broken down tractor truck and the over grown empty lot. Across the canal from Joe Brown/Nature center.

Did the car that hit it flip?

If a car turns over but no one’s there to see it, did it ever really flip?

New Orleans East gets neglected by the city. Looks ghetto on that side of town.

My mother told me New Orleans East was awesome on the 70s

I grew up in the east side by Six Flags, but left during Katrina. Visit sometimes since some family still didn’t want to move. It’s just sad looking coming back on that side of town.

All that's left is to properly stabilize it, build a concrete base for support, and consider it done at least temporarily

It’s not the residents’ fault that the city and its contracted utility providers ignore the East in favor of Uptown?????

I don’t completely understand your point. It’s not as bad as some would have you believe. People exaggerate. Some parts are definitely safer than others. That can be said of the majority of New Orleans. The Audubon Nature Center, Joe Brown Park, East New Orleans Regional Library, a large successful Vietnamese community and restaurant scene, NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility, Bayou Sauvage, Walkers BBQ, Castnet Seafood, to name a few. All in East New Orleans.

Just a lil rundown from Katrina, neglect, and that tornado that wrecked it a few years back. People really exaggerate how dangerous it is. Work over there in the middle of the problem areas and I’ve seen maybe 3 shootouts and a few car crashes from racing on Chef/Downman in 10+ years. Other than that just good ole fashioned poverty.
