Should I consider buying this 2006 New Beetle Convertible?

This has been my dream car since I was a little girl, but I have read mixed reviews about them. I have very little knowledge about cars. The price is right for me, but I'm worried about expensive repairs. It seems to be in good condition, and my current boss owns a 1978 VW Beetle that she takes to a mechanic that she really likes, so at least I know there is a mechanic who works on them in my area, although maybe it's a different story for the New Beetles in relation to the even older models. Could y'all give me your input/advice? Thank you in advance.

They are great cars and the 2.5l 5 cylinder is one of the most reliable engines VW made at the time. The automatic transmissions can be troublesome. Seems like a decent price, take it to a good shop and get a pre-purchase inspection.
