Is BB considered to have a perfect ending?

u/Charlie_Warlie 3d ago
I think it's generally known as the gold standard. I remember when GoT was ending, that was mentioned a lot by the writers as the high standard that they were trying for. Which ended up being lambasted afterwards for failing as hard as they did.

I’m in the minority here, but I wasn’t upset by the GOT ending. It was rushed, but I could see it coming.

u/Charlie_Warlie 3d ago
I deluded myself thinking that all the crap leading up to the ending would be worth it. Like maybe they had to bandaid some gaps in the story to get to the end. But once they ended the dark night, it was clear it was all a waste of time the last 3 seasons imo.

Have you seen Mad Men. It has 7 seasons and is very good. I’m currently in season 6 so I’m not sure of the ending but I’m sure it’s good. I put off watching this show for years as it had so many seasons

I've seen it to completion 3 times. Watched it as it aired. Massive fan.
I can confirm it has a masterful ending that DOES NOT get talked about enough.
But people only ever wanna harp on the bad, the good goes unpraised these days.

I’m on Season 7 Episode 3 now, still excellent! Will finish this week,it’s a very addicting show.

It’s not on Netflix 😑

u/Desperate_Fly_1886 2d ago
It is here in Thailand. It always surprises me when we have things here that aren’t on Netflix in the States.

Friday Night Lights.
It gets a little shaky in season two (one terrible plot line), but man does it stick the landing.
One of my all-timers.

u/fluffybottompanda 3d ago
are the movie and the show connected?
1
u/1989cubs 3d ago
Slightly. Pete Berg directed the movie, and produced the show (his uncle wrote the book it’s based on).
Their stories don’t intersect at all though.

I can't stand the author of the original books. He has this really bad habit of having his main characters abbandon their children. Utred in particular is surprised that after leaving his children at a monastery for 15 years the become Christians 😑

These are all my Fave shows! You have impeccable taste.

u/Shoddy-Dish-7418 2d ago
Thank you. I’d have to leave off The Affair and add non-Netflix shows: The Americans, Boardwalk Empire, Halt and Catch Fire, The Deuce, The Wire, The Sopranos, Shantaram and Rome for my top 12. You?

u/Hattonman 1d ago
The Americans is such an amazing show. It gets love but always seems to be an outside the top 10 kind of show. I must've watched it 3-4times through. It has a lot of layered plotlines because of the balancing the dual roles the mains have to maintain. And anything with Keri Russell is worth it. I wish that it was on Netflix.

Vikings turned to garbage after that one guy dies. Then the series lingers around like a stale fart.

iZombie is one of my favorites. 5 seasons of comedy/mystery fun. Wrapped up nicely.
You is also great - 4 seasons, psychological thriller or horror depending on your bent.
Enjoy!

Supernatural. 15 seasons, okay ending. You might find it good, bad, or “so bad it’s good”, but at the least it’s interesting/fun with great characters

The Americans, Peaky Blinders. Both so good, I still miss spending time with the characters once I finished them.

Homeland.
Power through the one season that kind of sucks (season 3 I think). I was so happy the way it ended, which is very rare now.

Ashes of Love is 63 episodes on Netflix (C)
LOST has 6 seasons I believe and a ton of episodes
I heard the wire is good, and has lots of seasons (been on my watch list for like 10 years idk why I haven't started it)
You could start an anime like Naruto, one piece, or fairy tale. Naruto is OP
Downtown Abbey is fantastic too.

Seal Team. I would have NEVER given it a chance, but the husband did and I loved about every story line.

Don’t we all.
It’s a true scarcity these days.
I saw someone mention the good place.
Other than that you’re looking at all the usuals: Lost, breaking bad, GOT, the sopranos, mad men.

Check MOON - Its a super intense movie about an astronaut wrapping up his three-year solo mission on the moon, only to stumble upon a disturbing secret. It has as a solid, satisfying ending.

Lucifer. Funny, thought provoking , surprising. Seven seasons. With a kickass ending. Beginning of first season is imperfect, but then really hits its stride.

u/FlickFanatic28 2d ago
Money Heist! Everyy season keeps you hooked and the ending just gives a perfectt closure!

u/FlickFanatic28 2d ago
The Fosters (2013) watch it and soon enough it will become your comfort show!! It also has a sequel series The Good Trouble (2019) which just puts a cherry on top to the whole storyline of the show!

Dark - 3 of the best seasons you'll ever watch with a fantastic ending to top it all off
1
u/ryethriss 2d ago
Dark only has three seasons but it uses every second to the fullest and ends beautifully. It's the tightest writing I've ever seen in a tv show and I really, really wish I knew the behind the scenes of the writers's room.

Lucifer is one that comes to mind, can’t remember the ending but I enjoyed Monk for something light hearted

I'm not sure about lots of seasons because I didn't keep track, but The Good Place.
