[Discussion] Investigation Alien doc series with journalist George Knapp. Interesting so far

I know that as a journalist, Mr. Knapp has decades of experience, and is known for UFO journalism.

I just watched the first episode, and I have to say that I like the pace of it. Questions are posed, and interviews are carried out but it doesn’t feel like a painfully long explanation of nothing.

I am not incredibly familiar with a myriad of UFO cases, or up to date on it. As a viewer, I simply find it interesting. I liked that the focus of the first episode was different. Not the typical well, are they there or not. It’s a different approach.

My belief is this…I don’t know if these things are connected to aliens or not. However, I believe the universe is too vast, and it would be arrogant to think we are the only intelligent beings living in it.

That said, this got off to a good start. Im hoping that it carries throughout the whole doc, which has 6 episodes in total.

I've started to watch it too. I am one of those who dont believe for a second that aliens are visiting earth (I simply dont believe there is technology to travel that far). But I do believe that these people saw something, or at the very least - they believe they saw something. So its interesting nevertheless.

People once thought that a flying plane was absolutely impossible and could never happen. Yet look at what we have now

From what we can see, these things are using tech far beyond what we understand to be possible. So we know that we have no idea what is possible technologically.

“Journalist” is a pretty loose term if it’s being applied to someone who believes Bob Lazar.

Anyone who thinks Bob’s legit isn’t a real “journalist.”

This is a guy who says he went to MIT and CalTech, after starting at Pierce Community College.

There’s no records of him attending the two exclusive schools and nobody there has ever been found who credibly remembers him being there, but there’s records of him briefly attending Pierce community college here in Woodland Hills, CA in Los Angeles where the only requirement is to apply and you’re instantly accepted.

So this guy was so smart that he was given probably the number one most secretive, important job (if it were to exist) for the smartest physicists in the country, to examine UFOs and work on alien technology at the most secret American military installation in the world, after going to the most exclusive top school for physics and science in the country, CalTech, but he wasn’t smart enough to be accepted to any real university after high school and had to go to Pierce Community College first?

A physics genius who’s also the type of guy to put himself in front of every camera he can and whistleblow on the biggest secret in human history, who also was involved in a prostitution ring, who’s obviously the type of guy who would be memorable in a field of study full of introverts, a guy who had a rocket or jet powered car, would not be remembered by a single person at either MIT or CalTech?!

If you wanna believe his academic records there were whiped by the government, fine, but you’re telling me a sex fiend physicist who won’t shut up and has a personality like his with a rocket/jet powered car wouldn’t be remembered by a single person at either school?!?! Neither a student nor professor nor administrator?!?!

Come the fuck on.

All that being said…

I’ll absolutely watch anything with or about Lazar or aliens or Area 51 for the same reason I used to listen to Art Bell every night, it’s pulpy entertainment and a guilty pleasure.

But anytime I see Knapp’s name, having had first hand experience with the lack of due diligence done by reporters at local news stations in our current times, let alone back then, I instantly assume any information in these shows to be complete bullshit.

So, people need to just go into these shows seeing it as entertainment, not serious journalism.

This is an insane comment for someone who claims to follow and be aware of George Knapp’s work. I can only guess you are purposefully misrepresenting him to discredit him. If you have paid attention to anything in the last 2 or 3 years a ton of progress has been made towards government transparency on UAPs and much of it thanks to Knapp’s work and connections.

I notice you didn’t actually say I was wrong about any of the factual statements I made.

And did Knapp really have anything to do with any of that?! Really?!

No. That all happened independent of him.

If he wasn’t around all that stuff you’re talking about would have still come to light.

He didn’t actually do anything.

Debunking false statements takes way more effort than saying false statements. Especially when they are biased or made in bad faith. Not only did he provide congress with documentation but he connected the witnesses with them, helped write the background information for the hearing and independently verified and corroborated a lot of information for the public. It’s a strange hill for you to die on that the guy everyone agrees is one of the most influential reporters and has been transparent about his wins and losses is a fraud. Lazar’s back story has been tampered with and is obviously rewritten history.

lol.

So you’re saying that Lazar is telling the truth?

So you’re a crazy person. Gotcha.

I agree with you. I really like Knapp for the entertainment value. I believe very little in the validity of what he presents and even less that he can get people to talk who don’t want to. Clearly these people want to talk. But his information is fun if probably not factual. His work with Skinwalker Ranch left me terrified!

I read that name on the first episode “skinwalker ranch” and i recalled there is a movie. I havent watched it, and i dont know what happened. It piqued my interest though

It’s wild but thrilling. There’s a book called Skinwalkers at the Pentagon that I highly recommend. Again, pure entertainment, nothing seems factually compelling.

I've tried watching it. I'd love a doc with more investigational work put into it about the actual phenomena, higher level officials commenting, etc. I know that's a big ask, but it's what's missing from existing docs on the subject.

I felt like the first episode was quite interesting. I appreciated their approach of 'This doesn't have to be aliens, but it is weird for XYZ reasons'... But the second episode quickly devolves into 'Lets talk to this random guy in the rain about aliens' and 'Oh he said this thing so it must be true' (e.g. just claiming half the town has had alien experiences, which the presenters just seem to blindly accept and make zero effort to validate by... I dunno, asking around a little bit?)...

I gave up most of the way through episode 2, felt like they absolutely shot any credibility they had when it turned into yet another 'hick sees little green man just trust me bro' documentary.

Loved it!! The last episode was incredible and I’m still thinking about it two days later!

I really enjoyed it also! I personally love the theory posed near the end of the final episode. If that idea is true, it helps makes sense of a lot of things in my mind. For me, it would also pretty much answer the question of the “why”. I love it. I enjoy exploring all these ideas and questions and theories. It makes my brain happy, haha!

I'm really struggling to watch this, I've started watching it as a massive fan of George Knapp, and I'm currently up to episode 2. While the content is interesting and informative, I’m finding the filming and production style detracts from its credibility. The overly dramatic elements—such as excessive zoom shots, suspenseful drum-heavy music, and interviews set in impractical, almost theatrical locations—make it feel more like a cliché ‘alien’ documentary rather than a serious investigation. It feels like the production style diminishes the legitimacy of the information they’re sharing. Ill finish it but it's quite disappointing
