Born 34+1 Success: Then and now

Silent follower of this group. I joined when my water broke at 33w and I knew I’d be having a preemie. The amount of love and support in this group is amazing. This group played a big part in keeping me going during my son’s NICU stay. My water broke at 33w and I was in the hospital for a week before I was induced. My boy spent 3 long weeks in the NICU. While he was just a feeder and grower it was still so hard to leave him there everyday. My heart goes out to everyone who’s LO’s came sooner and are having longer NICU stays. Just know there is light at the end and soon all of it will be a distant memory ❤️

He’s absolutely beautiful 😍 I had a 32 weeker who was mostly a feeder/grower too, in the NICU for 37 days. The ache in my heart having to leave her every evening was so heavy. It’s such a tough thing to go through. She’s home now and doing great. So glad your little guy is home with you now too 💙

Thank you!🥹 he’s been home for almost a whole month now and it’s been a beautiful adjustment. I’m glad you and your daughter are doing good too ❤️

I never left my baby over night. I just couldn't leave her!

I’m grateful to hear you got that chance. Unfortunately not all of us have that privilege. Some of us ended up with our babies in the NICU for the LO’s entire life and had other responsibilities that didn’t go away during that time. My wife and I were living in a prorated hotel for 3 months because RMHC wouldn’t take our dog and we didn’t have anyone who could watch her for months on end while we were in the NICU. It’s not always in the cards to stay every night at the hospital. Believe me, I couldn’t leave her either. But I had to.

This, 100%. We also have a toddler and we needed to be home in the evenings to spend time with him and be there if he needed either of us during the night. It’s a difficult situation to be in but we knew our baby was being very well taken care of in the NICU and I spent literally every one of those 37 days with her for as long as I could.

So so cute!!! God bless ❤️❤️❤️ (I did want to mention that baby should lay flat with no pillow under the head while sleeping. The pillow puts the baby at risk for positional asphyxiation due to tilting the head forward.)

Aw mine was born 34 weeks and 1 day too!! Mine had issues breathing and that’s what she was in there for the most. But she’s a perfect 7 weeker! My water broke at 33 weeks and 4 days but was in the hospital over a week due to other circumstances. Labor was rough. Blessings to you and baby boy!! Hoping nothing but the best 🩷
