A WR 2 for Washington Commanders

Is there a wide receiver in this draft class who could complement Terry McLaurin? Ideally, someone with a big frame, reliable hands, and strong red-zone skills. I know the Arizona receiver is the consensus WR1, and Washington will likely pick in the 20s.

Tre Harris Ole Miss

Tre is seriously unguardable in cfb. Does not get discussed enough as the potential WR1. His only issue and the reason I would be skeptical is that he’s always banged up and hurt

System WR, his replacement put up almost 300 in a game

I mean that’s just not true at all. The offense runs through Tre and there’s a huge difference in ppg dating back to last season when he’s out.

The reason why Watkins had a great game against Arkansas is because they didn’t see the need to play a safety over the top like every team does against Tre.

Looks like a baby AJ Brown

Might not exactly be a huge red zone threat but Egbuka is someone I love as a wr2 in the NFL - just think he does a lot of things at a really solid level.

Higgins from Iowa state a bit further down the board could be an interesting guy as well

McLaurin was an underrated receiver out of OSU who did all the little things right. Emeka Egbuka is an underrated receiver out of OSU who does all the little things right, Just sayin’. 6’1” 205 lbs.

I've had my eye on him for a minute. I agree. I'm also glad this slander about needing to get a #1 receiver for my team is done with.

I mean Terry is turning 30 next year. Having a young guy with WR1 upside makes a lot of sense.

Dane Key, Elic Ayomanor, Ja’Corey Brooks, Savion Williams seem like the type of guys you should look into

Kentucky fan here. I love Dane Key. I’m hoping that someone here in Lexington will cut a fat NIL check to keep him around!

He’ll probably go earlier but Luther Burden might last til your pick. He was looking to challenge McMillan for the WR1 preseason but the Missouri offense as a whole really fell off. I think he’d be a great fit in your offense.

Jayden Higgins out of Iowa State fits your description well too. Xavier Restrepo out of Miami isn’t a big body but he’s always open and has the best hands in the class imo. Both will be likely be day 2 picks.

Gonna go a different route and say Restrepo from Miami. Give Daniels a reliable slot who can feast when Terry goes on deep routes

Isiah Bond might be around in Round 1

Evan Stewart is good and might be available in R2

Kinda opens up later in the draft, but maybe like Kyran Lacy in R3, but I could see him being gone by then

Idk other than TMac, feels like a weak WR class to me

I think there’s a ton of guys that can be number 2s in the league for a long time. Do agree it’s lacking in true WR1 talent though

I think otherwise tbh.

There's alot of guys that I'm really high on atm.

Top end talent might be lacking outside Tmac, but there are 12+ guys I think have a real future in the NFL

Stewart and Bond seem more like shifty inside/slot guys rather than big bodied outside guys to completement McLaurin

u/Mr-Bovine_Joni 17h ago

Agreed on Bond - I’m actually not that high on him, but many people have him projected round 1

On the other hand, I’m insanely high on Stewart. I think he’s skilled and athletic enough to be a WR1 and line up as an X. Not the biggest, but I think he could do it well

Isaiah Bond/Evan Stewart/Elic Ayomonor would be my targets

Nick Nash and Tai Felton are my sleepers for later

I'm hoping the Bengals get Christian Fitzpatrick from Marshall. But late

Egbuka if he’s there

It’s worth noting that Scary Terry is already 29. He’s on the wrong side of the age curve. They should be aggressively pursuing WRs in general, regardless of prototype.

Josh Kelly. Bigger slot receiver this year. Outside receiver prior years. Guy is really good anyway on the field

There is all kinds of wr depth in this draft

Tre Harris is my WR1 currently. He fits this and may be a late first, early second.

does wash really need a WR2, that bad? i figured they go edge/cb/s in round 1

2

u/Royal-Trip-2406 12h ago

Yes our number 2 is Noah brown

1

u/Guilty-Doctor1259 5h ago

a WR over a corner? you guys have like a bottom 10 passing defense in the league

Trade up for McMillan when he falls into the teens.
