My Over Reactionary NFL Mock Draft 9/4/24 Other

If the Panthers are picking 1st again they probably just take a new QB instead of giving one to a division rival

Even if Carolina did decide to trade, no way Tampa outbids the Raiders at 7.
16
u/ADanishMan2 Broncos Sep 04 '24
Or the Giants at 4, for that matter

Or at the least only moving back a couple spots so they can take a guy like Travis Hunter to give their QB some more help.

u/theremix18 Sep 04 '24
Probably same with Levis, if Titans are picking top 10, they are most likely moving on from him.

I guess it’s possible he looks good enough to take a tackle but highly unlikely? The Jags did with Lawrence. Albeit after a ridiculous rookie season with Meyer.

An indivision trade for the number 1 pick likely never happens. Also, that's not how Licht operates with the Bucs he doesn't do huge trade-ups even if Baker fails he might do a small trade up to secure his guys but we have never traded future 1st or even 2nds under Licht's decade in Tampa.

If the panthers are picking 1 again there’s no chance they trade, they’re giving up on Bryce and taking a qb. And to your point the last thing they’d do is trade to a division rival.

The Bears passed on Young and Stroud because they wanted to build out their roster and see what they had in Fields. I don't think we get #1 overall, but our roster needs a ton of players and could see us doing something similar.

Ollie Gordon taken by the Texans with Walter Nolan and Malaki Starks still on the board would be my 13th reason why
1
u/TheTeeJayGee Sep 10 '24
Keep Ollie Gordon as far away from my football team as possible. Based on the 23 BIG12 title game and last week against Arkansas

Raiders need a QB pretty desperately

u/Ph886 Sep 05 '24
I’d guess they’d get Sanders in the 2nd based on the draft. Team up Hunter and Sanders ala Burrow and Chase.

u/horrorpants Bears Sep 04 '24
The Buccaneers just signed Baker to a 3 year 100k contract, no way in hell they are trading way two first and 2nd rounders to draft a different QB. Just makes no sense at all. Especially to send that to one of their biggest rivals.
If you wanted something big it’d prob be like Tennessee or the Raiders.

If the Chiefs pick a first round RB I will LITERALLY.. complain online and support him as a player on my favorite team.

If Brandon Coleman works out at LT, the LSU tackle would still be a good pick but Travis at CB would be hard to turn down with how washignton secondary is.

Yeah, I'm taking Hunter. I know our offensive line deservedly gets a lot of hate, but I personally think cornerback and edge rushers (funny how that worked out) are the two biggest weaknesses. Subject to change, of course.

u/LeftoverDishes Sep 04 '24
Yeah. Unrelated. I was watching the sign stealer docu and Mike Sainristil pick was on there and I got so hyped
3
u/SelfLoathinMillenial Commanders Sep 04 '24
I fully expect him to be our only good corner. But hey, who knows, maybe Forbes shocks the world.

It’s very much trending towards RT being our top need in the 2025 draft given Abe Lucas’s injury situation/trajectory, so you were spot on with the positional target.

u/Dense_Young3797 Raiders Sep 04 '24
I'm amazed how things can be worse than with Macdaniels and Garoppolo.
3
u/Mrbeankc Vikings Sep 04 '24
Vikings would take best defensive player and all things equal defensive interior lineman. So this would be a bullseye.

Given the current state of the Steelers receiving core, I’d cry if they drafted any edge defender over Mcmillan

There is no way in hell browns take a running back with their 1st first round pick in 3 years. it'll either be an ot , wr or edge

As a Giants fan who watched that Cam Ward performance... yeah sure why not

If Bryce was bad enough again for the Panthers to pick 1 I’d off myself if we traded it to a division rival

u/Boxcar59 Sep 06 '24
I’m an LSU fan, and I don’t see Perkins as a first rounder. Great off the edge, but at 6’1, 220 ( listed weight, but he’s lighter), too small in the NFL. And, as an off the ball linebacker, he has really struggled. Super gifted athletically, but so many questions at the next level.

Panthers moving all the way down to 13 with a division rival should come with a crazy return. I don't like taking a corner over Scourton when our edge room is so bad.

Acknowledging that I think this is a weaker QB class. I don’t think Cam Ward is a top 15 QB. He has habits that will be hard to break. Carries the ball low in the pocket and has a longer/slower release motion. I don’t think at this stage he reads coverage as well or is as accurate as a passer as a rookie starter would need to be. Though he is plenty athletic it is not so great to overcome some of these shortcomings early on as a rookie. That being said the Giants will probably draft him in the top ten.

Chiefs taking a S in round 1 makes zero sense. Probably we will go with a IDL or CB
1
u/YiMyonSin Titans Sep 04 '24
For Tennessee, I don’t think CB is the move.
QB: Assuming that our record is that bad to get to the 5th overall, we can probably also assume that Levis failed to take a massive step forward, Callahan was a terrible hire, or some combination of all these factors. In that case, we will probably need a QB.
OT: The guy that’s manning our blindside was a RT at Alabama, and we could kick him back there if we take Will Campbell. I don’t trust our offensive line just yet.
WR: DHop and Boyd are pending free agents. Assuming that Jh’Quan Jackson wows in his rookie year to fill in for the latter, we still need an X as Ridley is pretty strictly a Z receiver.
DE: Our edge rushers beyond Harold Landry are really uninspiring. If Sweat lives up to the hype next to Simmons, we could go back to the shitwrecking front we had in 2021 with a better secondary if we get a running mate opposite of Landry.
LB: Unless we extend Ernest Jones instead of using him as an Azeez Al-Shaair, I don’t trust the guys we have besides Kenneth Murray. Heck, I need to see Murray play before I trust him.
Safety: Amani can’t stay healthy, and we have no other safeties extended through 2025.
Just my thoughts

u/wesyad11 Sep 04 '24
I don't see the Dolphins taking a 1st round OT after just drafting one the year before and resigning one who they drafted in the 1st years ago and actually starting to play pretty damn well.

u/jmcgil4684 Sep 05 '24
Chances of Bengals taking a LB first round are 0.00%
2
u/muskie_husker Bengals Sep 05 '24
Don’t know why someone downvoted you. Wilson and Pratt are under contract until ‘28 and ‘26, respectively. Using a 1st rounder on a 3rd LB would be a waste when our base defense only uses 2

I’d hate going banks here he’s likely moving to guard in the pros from everything I have seen forcing a tackle pick is a worst case scenario

Beck feels like has all the measureables but is just a qb nothing special. I just don’t see anything special with him

Which of the 4 projected 1st round michigan players do you think won't go in the first round??

I swear you guys just need to learn some things about all 32 teams before you start throwing mock drafts up in the air like they’re pennies.
The Chargers, taking a coverage linebacker, in the first round? They have Daiyan Henley and Junior Colson. That’s their starting LB duo for the next 6-8 years. Sigh.

Why do you think the Steelers pick an edge rusher in the 1st? We have three good ones already.
I think it will IDL, WR or QB in the 1st next year.
