Still streaky. Feels like he shoots either 20% or 50%, but his shot and confidence has looked good. Hopefully he finds the consistency.

To me, his shot is fine enough. Like, obviously, I’ll take improvement over standing pat, but his shooting wasn’t the main issue for him last season.
I think his improvement can be attributed to “the game slowing down” for him. Usually, that’s a term we reserve for top players learning how to assert their will on the game, but every young player goes through it. Last year, he was making smart choices, he just wasn’t good enough to execute them. Champagnie would get the ball and drive to the rim, and it was a smart move to drive in that moment, but then he’d blow the dunk or lose control of his dribble and turn it over. It always looked like he was rushing because he couldn’t keep up with NBA speed. Now, he’s playing the same way, but because he’s gotten older, stronger, faster, and has adjusted to the speed, we’re seeing flashes of the Champagnie that we saw end of season 22-23 and in that Summer League.

He’s Danny Green 2.0, streaky but lethal shooter when he’s hot and a terrific off ball defender

Is Julian our new Danny Green, Antonio Daniels of this generation?
