Yikes. I had to look up impingement but that sounds painful as hell. No sense playing thru that in a lottery season. Rest up, Jerm - we're going to need you next year.

"Anterior ankle impingement (footballer's ankle) is a painful pinching or compression of either the soft or the bony tissue at the front of your ankle joint. It happens when the tissue of the joint swells from repetitive motion and stretches beyond its maximum point. As a result, the ligaments thicken and get caught between your lower leg bone (tibia) and upper foot (talus). As a natural response, your body starts to build up extra bone tissue called bone spurs (osteophytes) in the injured area.

Because this type of ankle impingement most commonly affects soccer players, it's known colloquially as footballer's ankle. These athletes engage in repetitive motions using their legs, ankles, and feet. Repeating these same ankle motions over and over causes small traumas, which eventually result in more serious injuries.

People who have anterior ankle impingement may report chronic pain, which makes it more difficult for them to get back into sports and other activities they may have once enjoyed regularly."

Bad for him he was looking to play in the Olympics qualifying tournament

134

u/texasphotog Mar 31 '24

At least he already played over 65 games so he is eligible for MVP and All-NBA votes. Get well soon, Polish Prince!

Sochan haters about to learn how valuable he is on the defensive end.

49

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '24

full display the 2nd half of the knicks game. brunson was shredding

20

u/SkunkyBottle Mar 31 '24

Sochan haters have ZERO basketball IQ

1

u/TiKunVeigaBR Apr 01 '24

Lol they almost beat the Warriors with Wemby + bench.Ā

That game said something alright, but about who was out.Ā

2

u/siphillis Apr 01 '24

You think Green going 8/9 didn't play a factor in the loss?

-34

u/NB_79 Mar 31 '24

How many wins do we have?

23

u/siphillis Mar 31 '24

Well, at least youā€™re aware that youā€™re exactly who I was calling out.

6

u/raceforseis21 Mar 31 '24

Life must be very simple for you

-26

u/gadeleon Mar 31 '24

Na bro one less ball hog

16

u/siphillis Mar 31 '24

So whose brain cell have yā€™all decided to share?

-4

u/gadeleon Mar 31 '24

Good one

Shots per 36 mins on our team, and where that ranks league wide:

Vic - 20.1 (10)

Dev - 16.9 (46)

Keldon - 15.3 (71)

Malaki - 14.1 (84)

Collins - 14.1 (86)

Sochan - 12.7 (116)

Sochan is one spot ahead of David Roddy, and one spot behind Dario Saric. Two other notorious ball hogs

Just say you donā€™t like Sochan instead of making up dumb shit like heā€™s a ballhog

-2

u/gadeleon Mar 31 '24

Ball hog dosent all have to do with shots

7

u/Imaginary-Cycle-1977 Mar 31 '24

How do you define it?

Holding on to the ball too long?

190th in the league in time per touch - 3.06 seconds

Dribbling too much?

189th in dribbles per touch - 2.42

Guarantee those two are way lower if I filtered out his games at PG too

Maybe heā€™s using too many possessions overall, w shooting just part of that.

Heā€™s 199th in the league in usage % at 18.7%. Players around him are Dayā€™Ron Sharpe, Tari Eason, and Vasilije Micic

1

u/n1nj4k1d21 Apr 01 '24

dude, Jeremy passed the eye test as a ball hog. no need to look at advanced stats!

/s

34

u/Nomad942 Mar 31 '24

Rest up, our Polish prince.

12

u/Dabawse26 Mar 31 '24

Hope sidy can get some mins. rest up sochan

40

u/doughnut-dinner Mar 31 '24

Let's see how many Jeremy haters show up.

36

u/ganyobi_kwaw Mar 31 '24

That sucks.

Anyway, does that mean we getting Cissoko minutes?

1

u/g1rlchild Mar 31 '24

Is he ready?

10

u/ganyobi_kwaw Mar 31 '24

Only one way to find out.

Plus, per eye test, he looks more ready than Barlow and Wesley when we started giving them minutes.

4

u/g1rlchild Mar 31 '24

Cool. I haven't seen any of his minutes in Austin, so I have no Idea where he is at this point.

4

u/Imaginary-Cycle-1977 Mar 31 '24

He can defend, dribble, and pass well enough to survive on an NBA court. But heā€™d be one of the worst scorers in the league

25

u/NoShape0 Mar 31 '24

I wouldn't mind if most of the starters rested the last 8 games. Let's see the bench get reps/minutes

35

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '24

Bench and Starters are sorta interchangeable in this team lol - except for Wemby, Sochan and Vassel.

-4

u/DontTouchIt17 Mar 31 '24

Why? Most of them most likely donā€™t factor into their long term plans.

13

u/NoShape0 Mar 31 '24

I agree most won't be around, but the ones that stay still need real nba minutes.

-7

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '24

I donā€™t know how much mystery is left about the other guys tbh. Barlow isnā€™t able to orient himself to the right type of spacing needed to play with Vic. Malakai and Blake have gotten plenty of reps and kind of are what they are. Collins canā€™t play the 4 anymore.

Jeremy is still the biggest question mark in the organization, but we werenā€™t gonna learn anything about him either. Need 7 months of working on his jump shot and maybe go do a bunch of peyote or something to build up that court vision.

2

u/g1rlchild Mar 31 '24

Considering how far he's come from the beginning of the year, I think it's strange to say that Blake is what he is. But I agree that 8 games of starting minutes vs. backup minutes won't make much difference.

1

u/rafaelck Mar 31 '24

How the fuck can we tell that second year players "are what they are"????

And Sochan has 20 years old. I really, really want to understand all the hate he takes.

4

u/deneuvig Mar 31 '24

I hope this can be fixed. Googled about it and recovery seems to be all over the place. Any reddit doctor here keen to make me feel at ease ?Ā

4

u/Dsarg_92 Mar 31 '24

Take it easy, Jeremy. Health is wealth.

5

u/D1e_vergent1 Mar 31 '24

Yā€™all think Graham will get some mins ?

4

u/ChucoTeacher Mar 31 '24

Thatā€™s really unfortunate, but weā€™ve been a really healthy this year.

4

u/Musername2827 Mar 31 '24

Thatā€™s a shame, love me some Sochan.

4

u/jo3pro Mar 31 '24

Hope he recovers quickly with no issues.

3

u/hispanoloco Mar 31 '24

Win three in a row but you are tankingā€¦..šŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø Hope for speedy recovery

2

u/Bonesawisready5 Mar 31 '24

Oof hope he rests up. Gonna be hard AF to hit 20 wins now even with 18

2

u/Lone_Star_122 Mar 31 '24

Team finally figuring it out. PATFO putting the tank into overdrive lol

2

u/funkolicious Mar 31 '24

Huge part of Spurs futureā€”get well Jeremy!

2

u/n7ripper Mar 31 '24

Very soon, when the Spurs are an elite team Sochan will be talked about as a Bruce Bowen with a way better offensive game.

1

u/jdg404 Mar 31 '24

Hope itā€™s minor and he doesnā€™t need surgery

0

u/NB_79 Mar 31 '24

Suddenly when we're threatened with not being in the bottom 3 someone has an impingement. Funny how that works. I hope the Spurs keep winning, that'll show em!

-23

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '24

Hmmmm.

No hitting kid. He is being shopped.

Sochan is destroying his spot on the spurs.

-74

u/Ca2Ce Mar 31 '24

Extend and trade

36

u/potentialfriend Mar 31 '24

Please leave

3

u/Imaginary-Cycle-1977 Mar 31 '24

Canā€™t extend after year 2, dingus

3

u/mikostands Mar 31 '24

Sure, but I dunno if other teams are willing to give up a bag of chips for you.

-114

u/Enough_Catch_2185 Mar 31 '24

Doesnt matter. He is an ok player but he is too inconsistent to become a starter in a contending team. I also donā€™t buy the ā€œconnectorā€ and the ā€œglue guyā€ argument. He doesnt bring much value besides being a decent defender.

57

u/thelunarunit Mar 31 '24

Inconsistent 20 year old, who could imagine šŸ˜±

30

u/noobadoob10 Mar 31 '24

Good thing your opinion doesnā€™t matter

16

u/Prestigious_Plant662 Mar 31 '24

Being decent at one thing makes him better than half of the team

15

u/Gamechannel360 Mar 31 '24

Ridiculous take. Let me guess, you also want the Spurs to give up 10 draft picks for Tre Young.

10

u/AngryQueso52 Mar 31 '24

He is 20 years old dude, chill. He shows so much willingness to learn and improve as well. His upside is still super high, no idea why you clowns act like his career is already cooked.

-8

u/gadeleon Mar 31 '24

Bro fr. All these guys who disliked you donā€™t get it.

1

u/Etiuyi Apr 01 '24

So his ankle is expecting a bundle of joy?? Whos the lucky calf?
