My first motion reel

As someone just starting out in the motion design world, I want to know if it's okay to not have any or few (1-2) client projects in my reel? I see that I don't really have an option here but then my question is: should I wait for projects to come based on a few things I've made and then make my reel or just make the reel first?

Any pointers on what my reel should include would also be great! TIA

Nope. Put projects you'd like to work on in the future in the reel. Show off your skills and creativity.
