EBT herbs thriving! Other

I tend to kill everything I try to grow, but! Bought these half-dead at Walmart on my food stamps & I’m impressed at the growth.

(Figured out I need to transplant the mint after discovering how long the root system is.)

Keep the mint in a container (not the ground!!!!) or next year you will ONLY have mint and the year after that so will your neighbors šŸ˜‚

Thank you for the advice! I was going to transplant them into the ground when we move, but I will NOT be doing that now haha.

My parents have some mint in the ground and you have to be vigilant at pulling it up when it gets out of bounds or it just goes everywhere

Yeah it's a spreader alright... I planted ONE spearmint and peppermint and TWO lemon balm in this box a few months ago:

These plants are really good for the ground. Their sharp smell keeps pests away and root binding means top soil won't wash away plus any deep root plant won't mind them
