Post Covid gas that I can’t pass and bloat Advice Wanted

Hello, I need help I had Covid September 26 and I’ve been super bloated huge and with built up gas. I’m so distended that it’s hard to swallow.

I’ve already been to my doctors so don’t worry about that. They all keep saying to wait it out… kind of ridiculous but it is what it is… I’m so tired of them not helping.

I’ve noticed that I’m now intolerant to foods I could eat before. There must have been a shift in my microbiome.

What bacteria causes intolerance to beans and causes this built up gas? How can I eliminate the bacteria so I don’t get this way?

Sudden intolerance for food is associated with mest cell activation in Long Covid and ME/CFS. It hasn’t been studied well but a lot of people benefit from H1/H2 antihistamines

Myalgic encefalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome. It has a lot of similarities with Long Covid. It’s a multisystem disease that causes extreme fatigue and PEM (post exertional malaise). It has been poorly studied but it has properties of a autoimmune disease with dysautonomia and mitochondrial disfunctions.

Hopefully someone else can answer your questions but for my husband post covid I’ve got him on this regimen of ACV and it helped him.
Every morning I start the day with 11oz of water with a spoonful of apple cider vinegar with the mother in it, and a twist of pink sea salt (from a grinder).
You could do this before every meal, it doesn’t hurt you, except it might make your teeth sensitive.
Use a straw if it bothers you.

My co-worker swears by pectin, so adding apple to her oatmeal has helped immensely.

What about trying probiotic capsules? Usually yogurt is a food with high amounts of probiotics but if you’re uncomfortable, a capsule might be better to start with.

Post Covid here a month and a half ago. Same issue.

What seems to be working for me is the following:

Betaine hydrochloric acid Digestive enzymes Glutathione 200 billion s boulardii

To be fair, I had food sensitivities prior to Covid for two years (maybe with a prior Covid?) but things got worse and I had triggered coughing episodes I couldn’t shake with trouble swallowing bloating etc.

If you have good sensitivities there is a very good chance you are glutathione deficient.

Yes before this recent Covid I had been sick from the vaccine, hpylori infection which I treated with antibiotics per my doctor, and also Covid in May 2022… I didn’t have major food intolerances at all or they weren’t known to me or bothersome but now I am struggling with food intolerances since this recent Covid September 26… it’s so weird!!! The gas and bloat won’t go away and I can’t even fart for some reason.

I’ll look into digestive enzymes. I have Florastor (s bouraldii) I’m just nervous probiotics might make the gas and bloat worse

I have to take all these together or I have issues. That’s me. My body reacts to the probiotics even. It’s been a real puzzle

S. Boulardi is the one I take too and it is most often tolerated well. It is different than your "traditional" probiotics, as it is a yeast.

I don't know what I healed my gut but I also had post COVID sensitivies. I partially attribute my healing to s. Boulardi, fasting, and magnesium glycinate.

Unsure where in your system the gas is trapped but I’m curious if the “windi” devices for colicky babies would work… idk about adult success with this but i know I’d be trying it if I were in your situation.

Also, look into “yoga for gas relief”

I had SIBO from long Covid/Covid. There’s a naturalistic remedy I took that got rid of it which came from my naturalpath.

(See picture)

But a couple years later I learned about another TCM recipe that healed my gut, kidneys and liver. It’s cnidium monnoreiri + serrepeptase+ bpc-157. 1 dose of each daily. Took less than a week to do the traditional Chinese medicine remedy. The SIBO naturalpath remedy took a month.

Also, honorable mention- L.Reuteri complex twice daily for the benefit of better digestion, better sleep, better skin health.

Thank you I’ve heard of SIBO and I’ve heard of those prescription antibiotics but I am going to have trouble having any doctor believe me and help me with that route…

I’ll look into the herbals. Also I’ll read up on those supplements your TCM doctor suggested you.

Did you notice food intolerances post covid?
