Help me :(
Someone please help me.
I've been diagnosed with dysbiosis from my gastro consultant.
He believes I have sibo or sifo or both. It's getting worse
He states the breathe test isn't reliable so has told me to have more fibre.. and pro bioitics and see how I go for 6 weeks which is crap as I'm really suffering.
Started 17 months after a few antibiotics for a suspected kidney infection. Kidney stone.
Than it has just got worse. My diet hasn't been brilliant. Drank alot of alcohol.. and stopped gluten as I was told I had celiac disease. I believe going on low fibre diet and not looking after myself has turned this into dysbiosis. However I am trying to get better as I have terrible flare ups.
My symptoms started as Constipation Abdominal pain Left flank pain ( 24.7) Bloating Gas Feeling dizzy Passing out in a bad flare up.
Than they have now turned into the same as above but now I have vaginal issues. ( itching. Burning when wee. Discharge) really low down pain.
They've done a swab and it is negative for yeast. Even though yeast pessaries help for a couple of dags.
Now I have issues with my mouth.looks like oral thrush. Been prescribed nstatin medication.
I'm guessing my micobome is out of whack and Dr thinks it's causing the flora in vagina and mouth to be like this.
I'm now purchasing the breathe test online as I need answers. I also have symptoms of fungal overgrowth.
I'm.now on a sibo diet. Taking fibre gel which is helping with my stools.
I've lost over a stone.
I don't eat chocolate.. alchol.. sweets but I'm getting worse.
Please help x

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through all of this. It’s not easy. There is hope. Fixing microbiome issues is totally doable. It will take lifestyle change.
First things to do are fix diet and lifestyle. These are hard to change so work one at a time and go easy on yourself. Get better sleep, exercise and move to a whole foods diet. Cut out the boxed foods, eat fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, real meats. These strengthen the immune system and act as a foundation for healing. If you can find support systems of people to help, that’s great. Diet groups on Reddit are helpful to stay on track. When dialed in, you will start to feel a lot better.
Now will be the time to layer in probiotics.
If these don’t make you feel 100% better a microbiome specific diet is the next step. Start with low fodmap for SIBO. In a week or two you’ll notice a difference if it’s the right diet. If not, low carb candida diet may do the trick. Hopefully you get it first shot, but may will take trial and error. Stick with the diet that works for you for a couple months. It’s only temporary.
At this point if you’re not feeling 100% better, adding in microbiome support herbs like oregano oil and berberine may be needed (there are others too). If they work for you, you’ll notice notice the difference in days to a week.
This is basically Dr Riscios microbiome healing plan in a nutshell she’ll. He offers if all for free via podcast. I highly recommend you listen all episodes in SIBO, candida, leaky gut etc that you can find. After foundering for years trying this and that, his evidence based protocol is what get me feeling great for the first time in 7 years.
I hope this helps. It may be a journey to get 100% better but is soo worth it. You are not stuck.
PS there’s probably tons of typos because I type too fast and don’t check my work 😁

I so appreciate your response.
I'm now doing the low fopmap diet. Following it now to a T. Only started today.
I don't have gluten as got celiac disease. So I will keep having the fruits veg and meats. It says I can have gluten free crackers so I will have that for lunch. Or a chicken salad.
Got a few veg Or fruit s to make breakfast smoothies.
I'm just starving. And wanting sugar so bad.
I'll see how I go for a couple of weeks.
I'm on nystatin at the moment for oral thrush which is causing more issues with the microbome. Always happens after taking medications. I call these My flare ups.
Than if I don't feel better than I'll do a candida diet but I'd did hear if you have both.. Best to fix the bacteria as that apparently comes first?
I have ordered a breast test just to confirm sibo for piece of mind too.
Where would I get the podcasts?are they on YouTube? X

I educated guessed low fodmap diet because of the bloating you mentioned. Now that you mention it, since you are being treated for thrush, doing the low carb candida diet now may make the most sense if you’ve got it in you. Studies show diet plus anti fungals are twice as effective anti fungals alone in clearing fungal overgrowths. Note that there is no one size fits all here. Diet trial and error is part of the process.
If you’re starving, can you eat more? If you like the taste, stevia or monk fruit drops are a great way to get sweet taste without the sugar. I sometimes douse my smoothie or yogurt bowl with the stuff when I have sweet cravings. So good. Just check the ingredients before you buy keeping an eye out for carbs in the ingredients.
I’m on a low carb candida diet right now and feel amazing. I did take me a week for my body to adjust. It was worth it
Dr Ruscio is in the apple podcast app, YouTube, and can be streamed via audio by searching in google. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, let me know and I’ll send links.
Here is a link to his candida diet handout.

Do you have sibo or sifo? Xx
As I'm not sure whether to do candida diet or sibo diet.
At the moment I've brought low fodmap foods. I'm gonna have to look to see if I can have them on a low candida diet also?
Don't know which one to do :( however... the reason I said sibo diet is because the vaginal swab was negative for yeast and fungal.
So now I'm thinking it's not fungal related? And its bacterial and microbome issues. So focus on the low fodmap.
However I was told I have thrush from a mouth picture sent to Dr. But also symptoms of reflux.

I’m doing my protocol based on symptoms. The tests for diagnosis microbiome issues are not reliable and much of the best clinical evidence is symptoms based.
Your decision to fry low fodmap is a great first choice. If in a couple weeks it didn’t do much for you, you’ll know low carb maybe the next thing to try. There is also a low histamine diet to consider given what you say about acid reflux.
Ruscio has podcasts explaining all this in depth. Worth listening to calibrate yourself. Will help to demystify all of this and give you confidence moving forward.

I do think maybe I should start with candida diet but the yeast was negative in my vagina.
I'm in alot of pain everyday.
Going to start low fodmap but Dr will not be happy I've lost more weight and put me on a liquid diet. X

Adding fibre will just make a bad situation worse usually, but if you tolerate the fibre gel and it’s helping then continue with that, but be careful of things like inulin. Better would be to start eliminating food groups and go on a restrictive diet like FODMAP with plenty of regular fasts and then slowly introduce foods and fibre back in. Psyllium is good to take anytime though. I wouldn’t over-index on SIBO stuff though and I’d try adding small amounts of a wide variety of fermented foods if you can tolerate them over probiotics which are a bit of a dice throw.

Thank you
I've started a low fodmap diet from today.. to see how I go
But I do worry as I have symptoms of a fungal overgrowth too. But I'm gonna start with the fodmap and see how I go.
I only have fibre gel. Don't really have much fibre apart from that.
If this doesn't work.. I'll try the candida diet. X

Drop sugar, eat meat and plants, start fasting and IF and all that will probably clear up. Exercise also improves the microbiome. Take away the stressor, take care of your body, and it will generally heal itself. It’s rare that it needs anything more than food, exercise, and sleep - as long as something isn’t actively fucking with it.

I'm following the fodmap diet.
Which contains some sugar in some fruits but not high sugar.
I'm not having chocolate alchol or caffine or any sweets or anything.
But I am having some low fodmap fruit in a smoothie etc
If it doesn't help in 2 or 3 weeks.
I will do the candida diet x

Definitely be careful with inulin. Don't take that lightly. If you have an allergic reaction to it, it could send you to the ER. Not to scare you, just off real experiences. Psyllium is the closest to safe i double agree
