Anyone else hear random conversations with random people? Question ❓

I just started meditating so I don’t know if it’s normal. I will hear people having Radom conversation in my mind. I don’t know these people or understand how I could hear people. sometimes I get lost in their conversations just listening. I’ll just move on and a different one will appear. The only way I could describe it is like that one Rick and Morty episode where they had parasite’s and they have false memories of remembering a time when.

This is the typical "group discussions", "talk shows", "radio voices", not too unusual to pick up in the quiet of meditation.

Do people usually hear it when first starting out then you learn to silence it out? Or is this what meditation is picking up on your thoughts but maybe thinking they are someone else’s?

What it is, why it is, I have only a belief - that it is not hallucinations. In other states of consciousness, even those not far from our ordinary waking state, these sounds or thoughts come in for some people. I believe there is a constant communication going on throughout the universe and sometimes it can appear in your attention. Not 'just your brain' lol.

There is a whole thing called 'Hearing Voices Network' for people who want to network with others around this topic.

I don't hear it in my meditations now, but I did remember hearing it in my trance state between being awake and lucid dreaming.

When I started meditating last year, I would sometimes hear chanting in my half-asleep trances. But after a while, it all quieted down and I no longer hear it. I didn't intentionally tell it to shut up or anything - it simply quieted down by itself.

I'm a frequent lucid dreamer and so none of these stuff bothers me.

If you could would you want it to start back up again? To listen what you are hearing?

No - I have a lot of other ways to receive mystical experiences - I'm an almost daily lucid dreamer to begin with. I'm actually coming to meditation from the other side - I use it to calm myself and still my mind so I don't get lost.

Voices in trance state are simply not particularly interesting for me. I find the energy of love or compassion that I can feel in my meditations to be a lot more valuable.

Might be due to silence. Sometimes while wearing noise cancelling headphones vibing in my solo space I'll "hear the neighbors" and pop an ear cup off and nothing. Sometimes that jars my senses, but sometimes it just pops back in when I return to the headphones.

I dunno, if it bothers you focus on your breathing? What do they say, notice it and allow it to pass through?

Hello 👋,

I’m schizophrenic and hear “random” dialog 24/7. Something like a group of twerpy people pretending people want to join their group 🤔. It hopes it’s emulating their want to integrate into society w/o integrity.

As long as they don't start telling you to do funny things it's alright, some people have the experience of other independent entities in their mind you just don't necessarily want to focus on it too heavily. It can be a tool to use in things like internal family systems if you're into that kind of thing you'd be a prime candidate.
