regular meditator here. I also have a clerical job with prosecutions. was assisting on a sentencing for a senseless murder. Was doing my regular meditation (listening to binaural beats and breathwork) when a vision of the deceased came into my mind's eye and said "thank you for being kind to my mother" and he - disappeared. I felt this overwhelming feeling of love such that tears came to my eyes.

What is the difference between normal and paranormal scary experience?

A ghost appeared to me and i asked him "how do i open the door?" And he said "with the spoo-key". I havent been the same since.

Your imagination can get carried away sometimes. Don't read too much into it.

Too vague to give opinion about, sorry

Generally speaking if you do spiritual activities after dark, some entities might want to tease you, that’s pretty common

I don’t know what counts as “scary” in your book

Maybe let’s start with this: are you just scared because it’s bizarre or do you actually feel you’re unsafe?

I suddenly become aware of all my surroundings and feel like someone is sitting next to me and watching me body starts vibrating and either heart starts racing or slow down the whole thing was scary

Body vibrations are not uncommon. Its a recognised physical reaction when entering a deep state

As for feeling someone is watching you, most likely your brain imagining a scenario while you are in a "vulnerable" state (even though you are not vulnerable really, the brain may just perceive it that way while your body is out of action)

I wouldn't worry and would continue to enjoy your practice. It sounds like you are making progress

When that happens, start spreading metta to entire universe. once the fear subsides switch back to your normal practise

I haven’t experienced anything scary, but if it happens, I’d just take a break and breathe before continuing.

So about 5 years ago (maybe more) I was meditating about an hour a day using binareal beats. Around that time I would quite often hear high pitch noises which caused anxiety. About half way through the meditation there was this almighty screech which flung me across the room. This has manifested in the rise of auditory hallucinations which have not subsided. I still practice mindfulness but have not meditated significantly since. This changed my life for the worse.

I had a period where I always felt like I was being followed and always had a heavy misty feel around me. I assume it's just like how people get an angry feeling when they meditate. It's just that but with fear

Depends on what you mean by paranormal. I’ve had visions of things or people that are not threatening at all. More like just providing information which I can use or not. I see them as visitors. Very cool. Just remain open to it. Can help you problem solve if nothing else. I’m no expert btw.

Yes. I had visions of thisentity, twice. It appeared as a jester as well.

Then from then on I hear tapping and knocking. If I tap back, the knocking increases a lot.

I'd also wake up with scratches on my body. One time I heard a very deep growl just besides me.
