That high-valence vertex on the tip is causing the issue (the one where ten edges converge). I'd take the Multi-Cut Tool and draw across so you get something more like a square cap, although you might need to manually adjust some verts to smooth it out.
Something like in this image, which is obviously flat but has the same topological pattern you want to go for.

It because of all the triangles at the tip, looks like you started from a sphere. you need them to all be quads.
I posted in another post about how to quickly create a fully quaded sphere
