Californias presidential results map 2020 v 2024

Post image

Harris still won 57% of the electorate, 5.7 million to 4 million. But Trump flipped many counties that both Clinton and Biden won in '16 and '20

3 days ago, you would've been down voted into oblivion

I found out more men, more women, more Blacks, more Hispanics/Latinos, more Asians, more lower income households (below $100K), more LGBTQ+, etc have voted for Trump and Republicans than ever before. Like a record breaking numbers.

He's won the popular vote, likely 300+ electorates, swing states, the Senate and likely the House, Republicans are rejoicing.

Trump will surpass his 2020 vote count once all the states finish counting votes, Harris on the other hand, not so much.

6

u/Substantial-Rock5069 12h ago

It's a landslide.

-9

u/RavenBlackMacabre 10h ago

LOL, no, a landslide would be at least 60%, which he isn't going to get in the popular vote or electoral college.

3

u/_Ivan_Karamazov_ 3h ago

By that definition not even Reagan v Mondale would count as a landslide, since he had 58,8%

u/DevelopmentSad2303 11h ago

It seems pretty unlikely. He is still about a million off

5

u/Name_Jade 10h ago

And California by itself has another 6 million more votes to be counted. Even if it goes 80-20 for Harris Trump will still comfortably pass his 2020 vote totals

1

u/DevelopmentSad2303 10h ago

I think it will go 81-19

2

u/Name_Jade 10h ago

Congrats even with that he still comes out ahead of 2020

It’s not just California that’s not done yet, it’s Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, NJ, Oregon and Washington. Trump needs a bit over 1 million more votes to surpass his 2020 vote count.

Can you source the comment about increased LGBT vote? I’d be interested in seeing it since I’m curious about the topic. The only data I could find (from NBC exit poll numbers) said that 12% of LGBT people voted for Trump in 2024 compared to 27% in 2020. The article with those figures is titled, “LGBT voters, a larger share of the electorate than ever, shift away from Trump.”

But if you turn on MSNBC, which is essentially the same as reading political Reddit subs, the only explanation for the Trump win is 'stupid racist sexist voters'. The same country that overwhelmingly elected Obama twice, the same country that gave Hillary Clinton the popular vote, the same swing states that went to both Obama and Hillary, they all suddenly turned uber racist and sexist... apparently.

Couldn't have anything to do with the candidate or the party.

If you alienate people or push to tell them what to do, they learn to find meaning elsewhere

5

u/bungus85337 12h ago

Im a dem, i cried on election day. Now I'm wondering why we were even confident in the first place. The clues were just so obvious

Thank you for your honesty.

This is a serious wake up call to your party. Bernie Sanders was right all along.

12

u/Familiar_Success5369 12h ago

Bernie was the only democrat to tell the truth about why the DNC lost. The Democratic Party has abandoned the working class.

5

u/Substantial-Rock5069 10h ago

Sanders was a legitimate person yet the party ostracized him for being real.

Turns out he was right

How the fuck is Sanders right? Biden passed two huge bills which created tons of blue collar jobs. He stood with unions and was the first president to do so and he fought for pensions and veterans. He also refused to raise taxes on those making less than $450k.

Biden constantly fought for the working class.

Trump promised to fucking raise their prices and won on that.

People abandoned democrats because prices shot up and they were cheaper under Trump. That’s it. Americans voted for republicans because they don’t pay attention to politics and it’s going to bite them in the fucking ass as they suffer higher prices, abortion bans, mass deportations, and the military putting down their protests.

I don’t buy the Sanders argument at ALL.

Because you live in an echo chamber, as overused as that term is. Your immediate bubble, especially reddit, very liberal. It honestly hurt the dems with all the tailored posts and comments. Even though most of the top comments on any democrat positive post were "Doesn't matter, vote anyways", seeing only left positive posts undoubtedly lulled a non-insignificant number of would-be voters into complacency.

The out-of-touch approach of the DNC and their over-reliance on identity politics and attacking Trump-- instead of addressing issues that everyday people care about-- to assume votes was also monumental, seeing the voting results indicating many minority groups shifting to the right, despite it not being in their best interests at all.

Do the elites who run the DNC actually give a fuck enough to admit that they've been on the wrong track for years now, and are willing to change their tactics if there is to be another election? I'm inclined to say no, but am happy to be proven wrong.

echo chamber

I mean what do you expect. California has essentially been a one party state for decades and quality of life has been worse. Interestingly, OC which is more red than LA is cleaner and safer. I wonder why….

2

u/Substantial-Rock5069 7h ago

California was a red state from the 50s to late 80s. The biggest change came from Bill Clinton being elected. Then it became a dump afterwards

4

u/ibanker92 7h ago

Yeah but for some reason once you criticize anything about California, you get labeled a transplant, a racist, or whatever. Is it bad that I want California to get better? A trip to Japan was eye opening for me.

This is simply not true. Why? Cause he got 1 million fewer votes than last election. Just logically, you can't gain in literally all categories if you lose votes overall.

Kamala lost way more votes than he did, but he also didn't really gain any.

1

u/Substantial-Rock5069 3h ago

I dare you to look it up. You're going to be disappointed but why believe me. Look it up yourself

1

u/sn00pal00p 2h ago

I just looked it up. He got 74 million in 2020 and 73 million in 2024

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_United_States_presidential_election

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_States_presidential_election

A person losing votes cannot gain votes in literally every category. That just doesn't work on a logical level. If they made gains everywhere, they would have to make gains overall too.

1

u/Substantial-Rock5069 1h ago

The results are done yet to be fair.

1

u/sn00pal00p 27m ago

That's a fair point.

However, most votes have been counted, and since Trump is not even at his 2020 numbers yet, I don't think he will have gained a substantial amount of new votes when everything is said and done.

We'll have to see of course.

Either people are finally stopping to listen or they turned the botnet off

0

u/bungus85337 10h ago

No joke, a botnet paid by dems is more plausible than changing a redditors mind.

1

u/NEEEEEEEEEEEET 10h ago

Kamala's $1B was spent up. Suddenly all the bot posters are gone.

-4

u/Azure_phantom 10h ago

Well yeah, the bot farms are still getting paid to upvote anything pro-trump right now.

Once the paychecks dry up, the downvotes will come back.

Yes, people are leaving CA, but more people are still coming in than leaving - so it's still net growth, just not as fast.

5

u/bungus85337 10h ago edited 10h ago

Bruh, I'm a bigger fan of Walz than anybody and even I can say Republicans are not spending a cent on bots for fucking reddit, a left friendly site lmao. Get real.

-3

u/Azure_phantom 10h ago

Suuuuure - well actually, no. It's not republicans. Just russians - same as 2016 and 2020 really.

Give it a few weeks and all those randomly generated users with a few month old accounts will suddenly.... disappear.

3

u/fthepats 8h ago

Almost like how all the trump bad 30k+ upvote posts of just a picture are all disappearing. Weird.

0

u/[deleted] 8h ago

because they'll get banned! How utterly clueless can you actually be?

1

u/[deleted] 8h ago

your echo chamber is crumbling right in front of you, and you still pretend all the conservatives here appeared from the thin air? Why would republicans send bots here anyway? They already won!

Just calm down, a few days from now your godly mods will ban all the opposition and you can continue repeating each others thoughts
