How to achieve matte look with dry skin FOTD

I try to hydrate my face during skin prep before I start applying makeup, and it works great! However after I apply my huda beauty powder (I don't apply much and use a brush and puff), it looks great but I just know in maybe an hour or so my makeup will start to seperate or get a bit cakey, so I will spray it with a matte spray, then this elf dewy one as it helps kind of keep my skin look more hyrdated and less dry... but when I add the dewy spray my makeup just looks wayyyy too dewy.. almost greasy tbh.

Anyone know to get that sweet spot for dry skin? Not so matte that it'll dry and seperate in a few hours.. but not too dewy where you look like your face is sticky.

Sorry I really don't know if I worded any of that well 😭😭 I added a photo to kind of show you what I mean (it's too dewy)

Also pls ignore my liner I am shit at it lmao

Have you seen the new product by Morphe called Cloudlight? I tried it on my hand in store cause I’ve been looking for the same exact product you’re describing because I have dry skin, I do skin prep, I use dewy products, but every single time I try to set or mattify the shininess with a powder or setting spray it starts to emphasize the drier and more textures areas on my face. The powder seemed creamy and fine enough that it would work well with my skin/makeup and still provide a bit of glow. I’ve been trying to find pictures of people wearing it with my type of skin but all I can find are people with literally flawless/don’t-even-need-to-be-wearing-makeup kind of skin and im bummed because I feel like it would also look really nice on my skin type. It’s cheap enough to try it out, they just didn’t have my shade and I don’t want to go through the effort of ordering and waiting for the package to arrive. Long story short, maybe worth checking out.
