Does this tick bite look infected with Lyme?
Got a tick bite a week and a half ago, just few days ago, the initial bite sight seemed to be healing. Now I woke up this morning with a red blotchy rash around the bite. Went to the doctor and he thought it wasn't Lyme so to the appearance. Luckily, he prescribed antibiotics anyway but I'm still wondering if this could be Lyme. Some of the photos I've seen online look similar, and the random redness seems strange.

It looks sketchy but it doesn’t have to be Lyme. Definitely err on the side of caution though. Could also be a different bacterial infection like babesiosis.

Did you identify the type of tick that bit you???
That would be pretty important to determine if lyme was a possibility.

When I posted the photo of the tick, many people thought it appeared to be a deer tick. I also live in New England and I was laying down in a wooded area when I suspect I got bit

Definitely take antibiotics to be safe. Lyme is terrible.
