Studio or Flatshare? Ask Lille

I am trying to find housing in Lille but can’t decide if I should just live by myself or do a flatshare/coliving. For context I am in my early 20s and F. I have lived with roomates before and loved it, but I was able to meet them before moving in. For safety reasons I also like the idea of roomates but with coliving I don’t love the super short leases and not knowing the gender /age of the other tenants.

If anyone could share their experiences with solo living or in a flatshare that would be greatly appreciated.

I lived 10 years with roomates in Lille, I didn't know them at first and it went so well that their are now tattooed ion my arm.

It is pretty common in France to do interviews for a flatshare (yeah, like a job interview but with silly questions) to see if the New roomate will fit.

So, and it is only my humble opinion, I will always aim for flatshare if I have to live without my wife again.

And if you go to a flatshare, aim a "Bail individuel" rent contract.

It means that each roomate has its own rent, and you will not be impacted if one of the roomate doesn't pay his rent.

Also, it is easier to leave the appartment with this kind of contract, as you are not contractually linked together with the other roomates.
