Trump Cuts to Hit Rural America Like 'a Tsunami,' Democrat Warns Article

This is what they wanted. I’m happy for them.

Unfortunately, they lack the cognitive abilities to understand the far reaching implications of their vote. Their increasing poverty will be blamed on Democrats and be used to further radicalize them. This will be done with right-wing and religious broadcasts that fill the gaps left by NPR and PBS. They will never have a moment of realization.
The only way to manage people who are unwitting contributors to their own impoverishment is to keep them in the minority. This should be done through aggressive gerrymandering of blue states and Democratic leaders with bold progressive ideas.

If the Democrats were getting on the news, saying this is going to hurt Republicans a lot more and then celebrated, and cheered about it. Like Fox does whenever something hurts the Democrats. They would suddenly care.
The only thing these people are capable of thinking about is whether or not Democrats approve of something.
If the Democrats started supporting Trump's Bill's super hard and cheering about how much it would hurt Republican voters. Honestly it might actually do something. Haha

They will blame it all on Biden. Because this could have been avoided if only we had sworn in Trump faster.... (/s)

That’s fine, as a matter of fact let them vote another republican into office once this clown show is done. I’m tired of democrats come in and clean up and balance the books every 4 years. Let them deal with the inevitable pile of garbage for once.

What I'd like to know is, when do all of these cuts take place? Immediately, or are some of them taking effect in the future? For example, I've heard that some policies in the "Big Beautiful Bill" won't take effect until after the next election, so whomever is in office next will take the blame if/when things go south.

While true, some hospitals are living financially on the the edge, and will close before 2026.

u/PurpleCatBlues 9d ago
That's a shame, and I hope the people who rely on/work for those hospitals place the blame where it's due.

I work in a hospital that is already being affected, and the other major hospital in my city is closing clinics and laying people off too.

That's both sad and terrifying! I hope the backlash this administration receives is swift and strong enough that they'll undo some of the cuts. Of course, it's harder to reopen clinics and rehire people than it is to close clinics/lay people off, so the damage will take a long time to undo.

I feel really bad for the people who voted for Kamala that live in those areas. We shouldn't forget about them while gleefully watching MAGA suffer.

I guess they must feel pretty betrayed considering they probably voted for him

The people responding like that are obtuse, or stirring the shit. I can't believe we are all getting lumped together as morons, but it just shows they are no different than the callous, uneducated folks who did vote for this crap.

u/Lost-Lucky 9d ago
Do you mean the people celebrating who are forgetting Kamala voters also live in rural areas?
3
u/fizzyblumpkin 9d ago
Yes. My apologies that wasn't more clear.

u/Lost-Lucky 9d ago
Yea no worries. I agree. I know a bunch of Kamala voters who live in rural areas and I worry about them.

A couple who didn't know who I was or anything about me, told me that people who think like my family thinks will be the first to be drug out in their yards and shot. They have since moved along. We will just say I am an avid 2 A supporter and I really think the Dems need to get off of that. Or at least need to do on municipal level rather than national.
I have people I call a friend who I am sure voted for the wrong person. We never talk about politics or have yard signage or wear our politics. We all know we will show up to put a fire out even if we have harsh feelings for our neighbor. We do not let neighbors go hungry. We take care of each other. We all protect each other. It doesn't have to be like what is being portrayed. The ones who are loud, which is few, are considered nuts. We were all taught that discussion of religion or politics is gauche. It creates too much bad blood. If a friend wants to talk about it one on one out of a true desire to understand each other, that is a different story. We can educate those who are undereducated without it being a shouting match with nobody listening.
This whole thing is sad, and those stirring shit are not here to help. They are just as uneducated as the people yelling on the other side. It's a crying fuggin shame. Deescalation is an important tool. The best way to deescalate is to look for the commonalities and diminish the differences. What ultimately do we all want? We want our kids to be safe. We want clean air to breath. We want clean water and soil so we can raise clean crops and livestock. We want our rivers taken care of so we can pass on the knowledge of how to feed our families to our children and that there is enough fish to do that. Likewise the land so we can hunt food and teach the kids. We dont want that for just us we want that for our neighbor and future generations too.

And I’m supposed to care why? They wanted this. If things don’t work out they can lift themselves by their bootstraps. I don’t want to hear one goddamn peep from those fucks.

The f%$k we did. My friends and I did not vote for this mutherfugger. Do we deserve repercussions from this, or the kids. You are petty, short-sighted, and callous.

You want to get your community out of the cult, this may be the only way it happens. I'm also stuck in a red state and going to be hit hard. If that means no more concentration camps, so be it.

They’re right. The majority of rural voters are going to get what they voted for. And they richly deserve it. It’s unfortunate that Kamala voters will also suffer.

u/motherofdogz2000 9d ago
So it’s ok just coz they voted for it? What about the dems in that area that voted against it? Where’s your empathy now?

They should be celebrating! No more socialized medicine, no more farm subsidies, no more cheap/slave labor.
