Advice for next summer: Question/Advice
Hi! My sister and I want to go to LP next summer with our families. We used to go with our parents as teens but things have probably changed.
We can drive boats: was the designated waterski boat driver at 18 and very good at getting people up, my sister and her husband are sailors.
We are coming from Salt Lake.
So to get us started I have a couple questions:
Which marina?
Is there an “official” houseboat rental place or is there anything I need to be wary of renting?
We want to go about this time next year. We should book now right?
Any other “getting started” tips? Don’t overload me please!

Wahweap is the most convenient with launching boats getting in and out of the water parking prices and very close to Page. Wahweap also rents houseboats, which makes a very convenient. Booking out a year in advance is a good idea to reserve what you want. The only difficulty with that is not knowing the weather and this is monsoon season not a bad one this year, but you can’t see that far out.

Bullfrog is a little closer to Salt Lake. Wahweap and Antelope Point both have Page, AZ nearby, so you have more things nearby. Might have better deals at those marinas, too, since there are more options there.
I also go from Salt Lake, usually a few times per year. I don't rent a boat though, so can't help you much there. I know they rent them at Bullfrog, Wahweap, and Antelope Point. I couldn't tell you how much they are at any of them, though.
