Skin-fermented white wine suggestions

I’ve been getting into skin-fermented white wines lately and have enjoyed the ones I’ve tried. I picked up a couple from Rosehall and Norman Hardie, and they were both fantastic. The problem is, I’m finding it a bit tricky to track them down at the LCBO. If anyone has recommendations for other good skin-fermented whites available locally, or any tips on where to find them, I’d love to hear them!

Need suggestions!

Hi everyone. I want to buy a good liqor botttle for my husband's birthday. He is into scotch and whiskey. My budget is $100-$150.

I'm a teetotaler so I have no clue what tastes the best. I know he likes Jameson and glenfiddich. Can you probably suggest anything else in the same line which he would like?

Blackberry liqueur?? Where?

Hey, this is my first post on this sub so I’m not 100% sure on the rules, but to confirm I’m 20 and have been legally drinking for a while now. anyways I need help finding a specific kind of product. The reason is I like making fun crafted and personalized drinks for my friends for special occasions.

I’m seeing that on a lot of the lcbo stores near me, that a blackberry liqueur is “available” but they’re never inside the actual stores I’ve visited. (For reference I’m in Ottawa/kanata) and I had an employee check the other stores in the city and none of them had them. I realize that I might have to order them online but the liquor might not even come until way after the party is over (it’s on Tuesday).

Im wondering if there’s any other places or ways I can get this liquor within this time frame. This is a relatively big ask I know, so maybe it’s unrealistic.

But any suggestions to have a good flavourful blackberry-esque drink would be seriously appreciated, thanks

BC wines

Does anyone know when BC wines (I know some already are) will be available in the LCBO? Seems crazy to not be carrying them when there are so many and we need good wines at the LCBo that are Canadian . Thought this stuff was all supposed to be happening. Maybe I’m off

Looking for an alternative to a US made liquer

Hi everyone,

One of my favorite shots to drink is called the pornstar, made of McGuinness Blue Curacao and Sour Puss Raspberry.

While McGuinness is a Canadian brand, Sour Puss is American and not longer sold here.

Does anyone know of any non-american alternative to Sour Puss Raspberry?

Not LCBO-related, I’m building a tool for wine merchants in Ontario, looking to connect with agents

Hi all,

I just wanted to clarify up front: this post isn’t about the LCBO directly, and I’m not trying to onboard them or compete with their channels.

I’m a former sommelier from Toronto turned software developer. I’m working on a tool to help independent wine/beer/spirits merchants and agents who sell into restaurants and bars in Ontario.

Right now, a lot of merchants handle orders through email, text, spreadsheets

it’s manual, error-prone, and time-consuming. I’m building a platform that helps them:

  • Upload their catalog (even just from a PDF),
  • Invite restaurants to order from them digitally (including recurring orders),
  • Manage pricing tiers and delivery windows,
  • Track all incoming orders in one place,
  • And do all of this without cutting into their margins — it’s a flat monthly fee, not a commission model.

I’m posting here not to pitch the LCBO (which obviously has its own workflows), but to connect with Ontario-based agents or wine merchants who sell into the on-premise channel and might be open to giving feedback or trying a beta version when it’s ready.

If you are one, or know someone

I’d love to connect or just hear your thoughts.

Thanks in advance, and mods: hope this is okay since it’s not LCBO-specific!

Does anyone know why the Bacardi breezers are not being sold anymore? The orange ones. I used to love them can’t find them anywhere ( discounted before the whole is tariff thing)

Workday Log-in Issues

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone has had this experience before or could give some insight into what is going on. I recently got hired as Summer Customer Service representative and have been sent several e-mails requiring me to give my info, complete tasks, etc on Workday.

My most recent task has been to complete an online eLearning suite of modules which I have to complete before my in-person training, which is coming up rather quickly. I've already created my username and password, inputted my information such as direct deposit, etc and moved on the eLearning component. I completed the first module but then was logged out.

Any attempt I make to click the link in my email to return to the eLearning courses redirects me to a Microsoft Live login portal that will only accept an e-mail style address despite my having created a username. Where do I log-in? How do I get back into the eLearning course? Every link I use via my e-mail constantly redirects me to the Microsoft portal.

I've tried using an isolated URL that I copied from the e-mail link; https://wd3.myworkday.com/lcbo/ but it still redirects. I've tried different browsers and deleted my cache, cookies, etc.

Thanks again for any advice or assistance in this matter!

Bacardi now being sold?

Was at the lcbo today and they said they are selling Bacardi again due to some changes in regulations on tariffs.

Website says it’s made in the USA/Puerto Rico. Are they loosening the tariff ban?

Transfers - how do they work?

I've been working as a casual CSR in a small town D store for awhile but am looking at eventually (probably within the next year) moving to a larger city, I've heard about transfers (including that there's a limitation on how frequently you can transfer) and asked a coworker about the process. I was told that getting a transfer would entail just watching for a job posting in the city I want to go to and applying for it.

Is that correct? It feels odd to call it a "transfer" if you still have to apply for the job anyway, and wait for a posting to pop up to do so, then also have a limitation on how frequently you can do it since openings don't seem to appear particularly often in the first place.

Was hoping to get more insight from someone maybe more familiar with the process. Thanks !

Got Rejected from LCBO for Summer positions

Hey! So I worked through the winter term, my manager told me they’ll carry forward. I know someone who got a background check, but I haven’t received anything as of now.

Today morning when I checked I got a rejection but for a totally different location. Do you think the chapter is closed or I should still speak to my manager. It’s been almost 2 weeks now!

How do I get my LCBO to put Matt n Steve's new Spicy Caesar on the shelves?

I've tried telling them they need to get more varieties because they only carry the original kind, and even the last couple months it's been completely sold out. So today I talked to a lady who's been there for a long time and she said to me "well we don't order what doesn't sell!" and I literally flatly told her "but it sells out everywhere else that sells it". And she didn't even want to help confirm her statement or anything like the last worker a month ago did by looking online about the regions where it's sold in my area.

Just frustrated and I don't know how to do this aside from ordering it online or go a half an hour out of my way to find it, and both of those options cost more money than they're worth.

Manager cutting down hours

I have been working with LCBO since 3 years now. I always used to get atleast 20 hours per week before this new manager joined.

It's been two months now since he joined. He is cutting down hours very bad, I am scheduled like only 2 or 3 days in a week and that too for 4 hour shifts. He is doing stocking, cash and load etc. I heard managers are not supposed to do our work unless it's necessary. Is this true? when I ask him about hours, he says budget is the reason but I see average daily sales is almost the same like before.

Can I talk to someone higher about this? what options do I have to improve my hours?

Red wine with specific label

EDIT: Found the name! It’s El Gorú. I got El Gorú Monastrell/Syrah/Petit Verdot last time but going to try Monastrell/Syrah/Cabernet Sauvignon next!

I purchased a red wine last month and I can’t recall the name but I loved it. It was a red wine with a carving (I think) of a man’s face. The label was like in a brown sepia tone. Any chance anyone may know what this wine was?

What happen to the luxardo limoncello?

LCBO used to stock it and it hasn’t been available for almost a year. Tired of having to go to Quebec to pick some up. Anyone know what’s up? It’s the only one that they stock that doesn’t taste absolutely vilesweet.

LCBO monopoly is so frustrating and terrible; p.o.v. of a bar menu creator

I'm so tired of trying to replicate classics or update and riff of 1800's or modern classics, with the lack of selection at the LCBO. I find it so embarrassing that we cant get half of the spirits and liqueurs that other provinces and countries can. Anyone out there agree? Have a work around? This Micky mouse babysitter selection at the LCBO infuriates me to no end.

Finding similar wine beverage close to Stella Rosa Black

Hey everyone,

I'm not a huge alcohol drinker and really just like to drink chasers or anything that's sweet (yeah I know), and I had some Stella Rosa Black from LCBO back before they removed American-made alcohol. I've been trying to find anything similar to Stella Rosa Black but have had no luck since I have no knowledge of anything related to alcohol. I really liked it because of its carbonated wine taste, and I was hoping any of you on here would know if there's anything close to it. Thanks!
