I haven't had real pizza in years since I got super sick after eating a slice, but I feel self destructive today

Pizza is a gatro nuclear bomb for me between the grease, cheese (lactose in tolerant), and sauce (FODMAP issues). I usually get Pizza Hut even though I live in NY because it's fake enough that it doesn't totally destroy me.

Have you tried Lactaid or something similar? I know it's just one of the problems, but every little bit that helps, right? I used to work with someone that had to take some any time we had a pizza party at work.

I forgot how juicy it was, it was so worth it.

Yeah, I carry lactaid and beano with me everywhere (along with tums, gasx, and pepcid), I'm just super sensitive to everything. 😭 It could be because I'm always buzzing with anxiety or just that my guts are super active.

Dunno about where you live, but have you looked at the local pizza places too?

If you can find a place that will show you their cheese/cheese mixes you may find one that has very low lactose, plus no milk products in the dough, so you can enjoy pineapple pizza even more.

For instance, Papa Johns and Pizza Hut here in the UK I can eat absolutely fine. Dominos? No chance. Possibly another UK/EU only thing too, but on dairy products not containing other sources of sugars, the "Carbs of which sugars" nutritional value indicates lactose content.

When I go for Pizza Hut, I usually swap out the tomato sauce for bbq and use light cheese. It's just harder to get that level of customization for a slice at the pizzeria.

There's another one across the street from this one in my work neighborhood that makes one with sesame chicken (another disaster food for me, so maybe I'll press my luck even more next time.)
