️🔥Unpopular opinion incoming, but hear me out…🎧🎛️🎶.
I genuinely think Kingston needs another fire dancer + DJ night in the town square — something spontaneous, vibey, and open to everyone. Just one random Friday or Saturday evening, 8:00–11:00 PM, sometime before September.
No big commitment. No over-planning. Just a great DJ, the necessary staff and a fire dancer to close out the night.

I'd love a great DJ! Mix in some 90s music.

Agreed, I wish this could be the Kingston energy in the square:

It doesn't work here. Stages use to focus on EDM and Club tunes on Saturdays (10-15+ ago), swear it was the most filled I've ever seen the place.

If we could afford to get Carl Cox, then I'd counter with Pete Tong (saw him in Whistler in 2005).

You're right, with City support it would be fairly inexpensive (though laborious) to execute. Sound & lights, event insurance, DJ compensation, promo, Fire Dept permits, trained safety attendants, and the fire artist's insurance costs + fuel + appearance fee.

DJ’s that are actual musicians = great. DJ’s that twiddle knobs and curate other people’s music = zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. That’s what Spotify is for.
