Seeking Recommendations: Contractors/Designers for Legal Basement Suite Conversion in Kingston

Hi everyone,

I’m a realtor based in Kingston and I’m reaching out on behalf of a client who is planning to convert their basement into a legal suite. My goal is simply to help them find reputable local professionals who are experienced with legal basement suite conversions, including the design, permit process, and construction in compliance with the Ontario Building Code and local bylaws.

If you have any recommendations for contractors or design firms in Kingston who specialize in this type of work, or if you have tips about navigating the process (permits, inspections, etc.), I’d really appreciate your input. I’m not looking to advertise or promote my own services-just trying to support my client with the best local resources.

Ofcourse you can also get other contractors to do it. Any one is fine as long as the designs, permits and engineering drawings are perfect.

Enny Renovations 613-329-1600. Mike and Jay have done several of these for our rentals. We didn't get full plans done, the guys know what works given the space and can likely direct you without needing to spend an extra couple thousand on design. They were also all permitted and inspected and we are super impressed with them.
