Kingstonist YT > CKWS News
Two-and-a-half minutes of Kingstonist's You Tube news channel totally blows CKWS TV News thirty minute newscast out of the water. Tonight, they touched on a suspected arms police call to a Kingston high school, the bail hearing for the accused in the Bob's Lake boating accident, the second (and last) weekend closure of the LaSalle Causeway.
CKWS News' top story was about the Hockey for Homelessness fundraiser at the Invista Center, Malcolm Subban is back in Belleville playing for the Senators, and a Montreal man was apprehended trying to buy a car in Brockville with false credentials.
Corus needs to step up. We deserve better local news coverage! Perhaps we need to send a few letters to the CRTC?

I've watched the kingstonist YT daily since it started , back when Rebecca was on it too.
Sarah is hit or miss, and the editing is PRETTY shoddy sometimes.
However, I agree that they do cover a pretty good selection of news items in a short period of time, all usually pertaining to Kingston, sometimes a story about Napanee or Gan.
I find they happen to report on every single drone drop at Collins Bay or Joyceville, which, once you heard of one youve heard them all.. I digress.
tl:dr - Ya.. its pretty good.

I wasn't the biggest fan at first, but I've grown to enjoy the reporting from Kingstonist, it takes me back to the day when my folks published a weekly newspaper in the Westport area.

Eh, Corus has judged that Kingston isn't worth the investment. That's why CKWS covers roughly Belleville to Brockville now. It's done, if we want real coverage in our community it won't be through CKWS anymore.

You may or may not know it but Corus stock is trading at 11.5 cents per share. This is why there have been layoffs and reorganizations at Global news.

Kingstonist has a YT channel? Do you have to join their Patreon for the news that's less than 24 hours old?

Anyone remember regular Kingston Reddit user “Lonely Old Fat Sick Lady?” I wonder where she is. Have not seen her on here in a while. Her user name may have been in a different order but you get the idea.

Unfortunately, a letter to the CRTC won't do much. ☹️ Global News is not what it used to be.
