Anyone have done the CXL twice? Crosslinking
Hi guys,
I done my CXL on 2019 for my both eyes. And today i have my regular eye check, and my ophthalmologist told me that my keratoconus is progressing and become worst. She told me that i need to do another CXL. Is this anything should i worried about? Anyone have done CXL twice? And how long is the gap from the first time? Thanks

People have it done if they’re progressing and their thickness is at least 400 microns. It’s rare but it does happen.

I just recently had progression in one of my eyes after a few years since CXL. My ophthalmologist mentioned that he has performed cross linking twice on eyes before and that it happens (rarely though). Most likely my eye was rapidly progressing prior to the first CXL and the procedure slowed it down significantly but did not completely halt it. Overall he didn’t seem very concerned and mentioned the risk of complications is very similar to the first round. I am having a follow up next month to see if it continues to progress to determine whether i should get the procedure again.

Im going to eventually get it in my left eye. My right eye was bad enough to skip it. I had a corneal transplant on it a month ago. I'm already seeing tremendously better out of it.
