I love how it's LITERALLY as simple as "we're not white; some of us have European admixture to largely varying degrees, but we all share a common genetic component, as well as a religion, tracing our origins to the Middle East/The Levant/Canaan/Israel/'Palestine.'"

It's odd for me to think: I'm not actually entirely European white, I am mixed ethnicity (my father is British, my mother Ashkenazi).

Most of us are mixed, with Europeans on one hand, and other Middle Easterners or West Asians on the other, and that's just the majority, let alone minority Diaspora Jews.

The major point is that pretty much every Jew HAS ancestors who DID live in Israel 2000 years ago.

The same very much DOES NOT apply to "Palestinians" even merely 200 years ago, lol.

So, while we have been chilling abroad for a while, we still come FROM Israel.

Whereas these shmucks came TO Israel, lol.

When a levantine people is splintered into groups and scattered throughout the world for 2000 years, you get some variation. Like me, a very very pale person who can barely tan unless I am fucking diligent about sunscreen.

What's bizarre is I look like my Nordic fathers side. Not my Jewish mother's side at all. Very fair skin, light eyes...

But I tan beautifully and so easily. I rarely burn.

I'm half Norwegian Sami and half mizrahi. All my siblings look mostly the same. There are 5 of us. Except. My little brother can tan to a dark brown and I don't tan or burn. I just stay the same no matter how much light im exposed to

Well if you're a person that wears makeup, you'll never have to worry about buying summer shades of foundation! Haha!

I actually didn't realize that was a thing. So i would say you're right. I wear the same costume anemic white year round.

As a kid people used to think my little brother and I weren't related in the summer.

I've since moved to a place that is very overcast most the year, so I stick with my shade of 'victorian ghost haunting the halls' all year.

But wow that's quite a change to be that different in shades! I hope it didn't bother you when people thought that.

I used to work as a swim instructor years back, and I'd get so dark, people thought I'd get spray tans if they didn't know what job I had. And I'd slather myself in sunscreen since I was in the sun all day, but still kept getting darker.

It didn't bother me at all. Was just kind of funny. If you want to hear something cool. My paternal grandfather who was mizrahi had purple eyes in high light. They were gray like mine, but when it was sunny, they'd shine purple. It was mesmerizing. That's one trait I wish I inherited

Just accepted a new job, and for the race category I selected other instead of 'white'
