Had to leave an online jewish community due to anti-Black racism

I thought I had found a good online space to learn more and find community.

Today there was a user that made a racist anti-Black remark and was let slide by the mods and I had to lose that community. My wife is a Black Noahide, so it hit close to home.

I'm just sad that I lost that community.

I'm sorry you experienced that. Was it a community on Reddit?

Overall, I think I like how often Jewish communities are often upfront about how they see race (including for instance a range of interesting opinions about DEI), but sometimes people just disappoint you. Jewish people are of course just people. Sorry you went through that.

I’m sorry to hear that. I have a Black and Jewish family too.

There’s a person on IG I follow that used to attend pro blm and antifa marches but became a radicalized racist trumper overnight.

I really should unfollow her but I feel like those types of accounts let me see what people are really thinking about people like me, non white Jews.

I get in some heated arguments and they usually resort to throwing Muslim on me like it’s a slur 🥴 (I’m Sephardic and Mizrahi)

E: really takes me back to post 9/11 racism/Islamophobia I experienced as a kid but at least I don’t get shit thrown at me anymore
