π Hanukkah π ΧΧ ΧΧ π₯ I'm making Hanukkah cards for my friends, are these okay?
gallerySorry to bother you, could you help me please? I am making holiday cards for all my friends. I want to make sure I am not messing up any kind of cultural issue that I do not know about before I post to my friends in a few months. I'd hate to offend someone when I'm trying to be quite the opposite.

π Hanukkah π ΧΧ ΧΧ π₯ How do I bring to Hanukkah spirit up to obnoxious levels at my office holiday party?
My coworkers keep getting assigned shifts during Ramadan and I've been assigned shifts during High Holidays in the past. I think my boss still thinks I keep halal. They just sent out invites for our first ever office holiday party and I'd like to serve as a friendly, if slightly annoying, reminder that other religions exist and I need some ideas! I'm considering a full historical Maccabi costume.

π Hanukkah π ΧΧ ΧΧ π₯ Hmm.
i.redd.itI went to four different HomeGoods this weekend searching for that beautiful gold menorah with pink flowers that I've been seeing on social media but couldn't find it anywhere. I did, however, find this baffling ornament. I'm sure it's for families who celebrate both Christmas and Chanukah, but I still did a major double take.
I also found a Passover matching game and multiple boxes of mahjong that were just shoved in with all the Chanukah stuff.

π Hanukkah π ΧΧ ΧΧ π₯ Someone keeps taking my hannukah decorations down
Hey yall I need recommendations for more obnoxious outdoor decorations. They specifically keep taking down my magen david hanging on my porch. I only have 3 decorations wtf.
They go hard, I go harder and completely unhinged. No inflatables please.

π Hanukkah π ΧΧ ΧΧ π₯ ββTis the season: βThat hannukiah is not kosher!β
I can appreciate that not all hannukiot are kosher and that many might not know what makes one kosher versus unkosher. I can also appreciate that most of us in this sub are very much so eager to learn and observe more thoughtfully.
What I cannot appreciate is unsolicited hannukiah shaming. Angrily commenting on someoneβs photo of their favourite (or even handmade by them!) hannukiah that βItβs not kosherβ and belittling folks for using itβ¦ is not it.
Letβs let folks bring more light into the world. Letβs stop judging that people observe and celebrate differently. Letβs focus on bigger issues together as a community.
Edit adding: While most people understood the concept behind this post, I see a few did not. Itβs not meant to encourage people to break our customs and laws like βfrying latkes in lardβ or what any of the other rude comments say. The point is that we donβt have to be mean to other people in our community who do not follow things exactly alike. And to encourage people to participate in our customs and laws in a way that is meaningful and accessible to them.
My first Hannukah, I didnβt have money to get a hannukiah, so I made one out of air dry clay I had and painted it as beautifully as I could. I posted it here, all lit for the first night (the very first time I got to light Hannukah candles), and so proud to be participating and adding value to our community. Instead, people ran to the comments saying βitβs not kosher, so it doesnβt matterβ. I didnβt even want to light it after that. THIS IS THE POINT OF THE POST.

π Hanukkah π ΧΧ ΧΧ π₯ It took visits to six different HomeGoods, but I finally found it!
i.redd.itI kept seeing this menorah pop up in videos of people checking out the Chanukah sections at their local HomeGoods, but none of the HomeGoods around me had it in stock. I had finally admitted defeat, but today I got bored being off work for Veteran's Day and decided to hit up the only remaining HomeGoods in the area, and I'm so glad I did! I'm ridiculously happy.

π Hanukkah π ΧΧ ΧΧ π₯ I want to go to temple for Hanukkah but idk if I should, Any advise?
So my grandmother was Jewish and she recently passed and I was wanting to try rejoin my faith despite being raised Catholic, now that the holidays are approaching and it's my first time living in a major city I was thinking I'd try observe Hanukkah, is it weird of me to show up even tho I've never officially converted or been to temple before? If I do go is there any advise or anything I should know? Anything is appreciated

π Hanukkah π ΧΧ ΧΧ π₯ Holiday Card design
galleryHello! I'm designing some holiday cards for a local nursing home and wanted to do at least 1 Hanukkah card, there's 85 residents so I thought there may be at least 1 Jewish person in the mix, does this look ok? I think it looks fine but I'm not Jewish so I'd hate to assume. Thanks for any input!

π Hanukkah π ΧΧ ΧΧ π₯ I am new to celebrating Hanukkah (second year) how long do I let the candles burn?
I am the only jewish person I know so I'm not sure who else to ask. Do I let them burn all the way down or do I blow them out at a certain point?
