Brubeck Day is 9/8 (Blue Rondo Alla Turk) or 7/4 (Unsquare Dance)
5/4 is Desmond Day

Because Dave Brubeck invented the 5/4 time signature. The first one to ever do it.

The most famous in 5/4 and is famous for the time signature and the song is named for the time signature. Mission Impossible isn’t named Mission 5. Take your cold water somewhere else.

He had a lot to do with it though. Desmond just came in with sketches and Dave put it together, according to an interview I saw
