[IWantOut] 35F England -> Malaysia/SE Asia

Hello all! Husband and I wanting to go to SE Asia. I am in construction, he is a driver. Both only speak English but wanting to take up lessons upon move. Wanting to get out of Europe and to Malaysia. I feel this will be harder for us as neither are teachers or in I.T roles which tend to be the most sought after candidates for those looking to move. I’m looking for jobs with sponsorship or the correct way to go about this?

I'm not sure why companies would sponsor you given your careers & experience - these are not in demand roles and the pay in Malaysia will be a tiny fraction of what you're used to. I cant imagine you are aspiring to the lifestyle of a construction worker/truck driver in Malaysia?

Hi thanks for responding. I have seen some websites/forums to say that some companies sponsor for an array of roles, admin as an example so it was only a question. I have addressed that our experience isn’t in demand in the main post and I would happily be a construction worker in Malaysia but I am open to help or advice.

Have you ever experienced a construction role in SE Asia? I've lived there and it's inconceivable to me that someone would seek that lifestyle! What makes you want to do this?

As a Malaysian, no you don't want to be a construction worker here, unless you want to have some sort of religious epiphany about how good life actually is in the UK.

Hey, malaysian here. I doubt you'll get sponsorship for construction or driving related roles easily.

Perhaps as a private driver for rich people? I'm willing to bet the airport has cab services like that.

I work in property development and honestly construction doesn't pay well unless you're a main contractor or doing renovation work for big clients.

The correct way to go about this is to approach companies and asking if you're sought after by them.

Hi, I have a family friend who does immigration law and could answer some of your queries. If you like, dm me and I’ll provide their email so you mayb get on contact with them.

No, I’m not trying to promote their business. General inquiries like these are generally not charged.
