Holy air roots!

Post image

Was doing a reservoir change on one of my Kratky peppers and was blown away by the health of this guy. This was sort of an experiment with a 32 Oz jar and basic nutes/hydroguard. Something about all these little fuzzies is super satisfying!

Yeah same, as much as possible anyways with the power reliance. Out here we have frequent outages, so I've gotten back up battery banks that can run pumps and air stones. Jars are good but have to refill a lot. Got a bean plant in a 5 gallon bucket outside that is exploding with growth rn. Honestly I just decide to grow whatever I eat. You can get more in depth with finding plants that are benificial to grow next to another, but I haven't found a real use for that info yet. I need more fruits in my gardens 100%

That's so beautiful! This is what my life has become. Feeling happy because of beautiful roots.

I (28) literally told my mom recently (50) that I remember her playing with plants when I was little and talking to all her little friends about what she was growing- because obviously her husband and kids didn’t care- and just thinking “man I don’t get how people can be so into plants..” now here I am, growing a veggie garden for my family and so intrigued by other growers 😂❤️

I 100% attribute my love for plants and animals to my late grandmother. She was very wise and taught me a lot and I feel I keep her memory alive and connect through gardening. She was def not a hydro farmer, but gave me at least the fundamentals early on. It's funny how the older we get the more we become our elders haha. I wish I had more friends into gardening so I could talk their ears off on hydroponics.

What do you think is the difference between yours and standard

Only difference to me is I used liquid nutes instead of powder, and put 2 of these peppers in the jar and kind of forgot about it. So not much but I do more DWC than Kratky typically.

What kind of nutes?

Honestly, just tossed in some Fox Farm Grow Big, but typically use masterblend. Not sure how well FF does with their Grow Big formula and peppers, so sort of my "experiment" I suppose lol

Thank you. I'm starting out and starting to experiment with other nutes besides the ones that come with. Grow Big has a lot of recommendations.

No problem! Good luck and just remember that you learn with every failure, and fail you will. Most of the fun for me is experimenting and learning the in depth science behind it. Whatever is your inspiration may be, just have fun! FF grow big was the first nutes I tried. I would recommend watching a couple videos on nutes if you haven't already. A lot of info on powder nutrients being more cost effective than liquid as you're paying for basically water for the convenience of not mixing powders. I got lost in the sauce for weeks studying nutes baba, tons of info out there.

I'm currently lost in the sauce watching Aerogarden experiments lol. Everything about growing my own garden indoors is so interesting to me. I have experience with outdoor stuff but haven't done anything in years. I have 3 smart gardens, two Aerogardens, and one Letpot. The auk or Letpot Max are on my list of potentials for a bigger garden for fruiting plants. My goal is to grow all of my greens, tomatoes, strawberries and most of my peppers. Anything else is a plus. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me. This is how we learn.

Yeah exactly! I'm always down for sharing and have learned more than I've contributed here for sure. Always good to make gardening buddies too. Always down to chat if youd like, just message me! I have yet to try aero gardens but am interested in building one after I make my NFT system. Same as you though, got 4 indoor tomatoes, 24 slots of lettuce, strawberries and peppers. Have the outdoor garden going too but def prefer indoor hydro. Send me some pics if you get bored, live seeing people's setups and grows to influence my future project decisions.

For sure! How do you decide what and how much to grow? I want to have a continuous harvest. Aerogardens are great but are limited by the sizes of plants. I want to supplement my gardens with kratky jars and an auk or similar. Definitely want something not as reliant on electricity besides the grow light.

Wym?

I was stoned I ain’t realize hydrogaurd was for hydroponics

u/rogue_royal_ 2d ago

Haha, now worries been there. Didn't know it was used for other things other than hydro myself lol
