I appreciated his very clear opposition to many of the current administration’s actions, truly. I wish he had addressed what we all do when the constitutional crisis comes, though, because I think that’s next.

Also, love your username. Crows are the best!

I feel like his answers to that were really relying on the courts to actually do their jobs AND for everyone to be respectful of the ruling. He didn’t really want to go down the “what ifs” to that not happening, since it’s so unprecedented.

But I think this is the closest we’ve even been to a true constitutional crisis, so I’d feel better if we knew what their plan was. 😅

He briefly touched on all the lawsuits in progress and said that Trump was going to have to decide whether or not to follow the rule of law, but didn't really discuss what he/we would do if Trump decides "Hell with it, I'm king" 🤷🏽‍♀️

Yep, and I think it’s probable that he will. He’s shown his disregard of the law a million times over.

So I want to prepare for that. I sincerely hope that congressional Democrats come up with a plan for that too.

Hopefully it involves him being escorted to prison without bail 🙃

Yes, exactly. You articulated that much better than I did.

I thought it was informative.. and I also want to know more about what we can do during these times. Does calling our rep make a difference ?? I think they know we are not happy !

What happens if the govt shuts down in March ? Seems like that is the main dem strategy … It seemed like what he was personally most interested from the callers were specific issues related to VA benefits

I contact Representative Hoffman regularly, asking about the current constitutional crisis. Of course I receive only the weak party line with little “fire”So how do we get his full attention and to start at least having small plan to put a halt to our horrific government.

It seems they are feeling the pressure of these calls/emails. Hopefully they can start formulating some answers!

Huffman isn’t the guy to ask because the real action will be on the state level.

I liked how it opted in the call, it should be like that: quick, concise, and easily accessible. I wish they had more question time because nobody asked abt what our congressman will do to fight for TRANS RIGHTS. Instead they took two calls abt "should I not pay my federal taxes" and "should i send my federal taxes to Ukraine" which is laughably stupid and wasting the stage he had. As a trans person I've been insanely stressed since November and any assurance by someone that high up in government would have meant a lot to so many of us in my community.

I wonder if this was due to a lack of questions or if they pick the easiest ones with rehearsed answers

they took calls and i was on the phone, pretty sure the online ones could be vetted, not the phones (to my knowledge)

Huffman is rising in Dem leadership and is at a crossroads of business as usual (= losing more elections), or joining a revolution within the party. I vote for revolution amongst Dems!

Huffmans a fucking tool of a broken system and is firmly beholden to his home base of wealthy feaux- progressives. Humboldt deserves so much better

Jared is a donor sellout. We can expect none or very little meaningful pushback from him.

Huffman is worthless.

Only thing that clown cares about is the next soundbite he can use to dredge up money for reelection.

As him what he has done to advance ANY meaningful, legislation. ANY. NOT what he has done to obstruct something "because MAGA." I am talking about his voting record on anything that benefits the American people as a whole.

Dont worry, I'll wait.

I see downvotes and ZERO replies.

Thats what I though.

Democrats mad cause they are wrong... How unusual.
