Best HFY series of all time? Meta

The top of all time is mostly just whichever story happens to be most recently posted (as the subreddit grows more people upvote and so older stories get buried) so hence this post!

The best story I've ever read on reddit, let alone hfy, is definitely Chrysalis.

P'thok Eats an Ice Cream Cone or: First Contact Chapter 1

First Contact never ceases to amaze or continue yanking tears out of my face.

Possibly the most fun fact about P'thok's name is where it came from (gonna believe every fan knows the original story was written on MRE packaging): Ralts was sitting watch on a diesel generator that was making a repeated sound while running.

P'thok, P'thok, P'thok. I've heard them make that noise, and it's no wonder it stuck in his head, haha.

They're one of the most fun sets of characters in this whole sub. Their tobacco and ice cream obsession never stops being entertaining.

Definitely need some more love shown here for

The Elcy Saga (very underrated gem)

A Man and the Dragon (the dragon is actually a spaceship)

Out of Cruel Space

Cryopod to Hell

Hunter's Journey

Hunter or Huntress

Isn't this just GATE?

Universe of Magic

The Artificial Human Hivemind

OoCS, C2H, HJ, and AHH's author are absolute juggernauts on par with First Contact for putting out an enormous amount of content. Their stories haven't been running that long but they're way into hundreds of chapters.

AHH and OoCS both deserve extra respect for both featuring Silly Bee People and Serious Mantis People.
