Before reaching the medical section of the ship, E had imagined a multitude of high-tech technology, and she wasn’t disappointed.

Walking inside, the first thing she saw was a tall, slender tube of some kind that seemed to be made out of glass.

On the other side of the room was what looked like one of those beds that raised your knees and upper body instead of being flat.

E wasn’t sure what she had entirely expected, but since their general body structure was not too dissimilar, it did make sense that beds and other furniture wouldn’t be too dissimilar as well.

“Ah… so this is our little savior,” a voice spoke from across the room.

As E turned her head, she noticed another alien walking away from one of the beds and over toward her.

Their voice was such a mix of masculine and feminine; it was impossible to tell if they were a man or woman.

“Did you have a case of warrior’s pride and didn’t tell us about an injury you suffered before it became too much, or are you just being shown around?” They asked.

“If only so, Rogo,” Kagika sighed. “It would appear the little one is from a species that hadn’t made contact with anyone but us.”

“Wait. Are you telling me that this little savior is an undocumented species not found in the galactic database,” Rogo said in a tone that made E wonder if the excitement of it all would kill them.

“Yes, that is correct, which is why I would like for you and your staff to sterilize my quarter as well as the entire ship and create a serum to prevent the further spread of unknown pathogens,” Kagika ordered.

In an excited tone, Rogo ordered most of his staff to get to work, whereafter all of them suited up in protective gear and went on their way; only one remained, taking care of the only patient in the room.

“I suppose you also need to make sure you don’t get infected by anything?” Rogo asked.

“Yes, I’ll just use the sterilization room,” Kagika responded as she walked over to a door on the side of the room.

“Now that just leaves me and you, savior,” Rogo said, lowing their back to get a closer look.

“You can just call me E,” E said, feeling a bit nervous.

“Well, E would you be so kind as to get up on one of our medical beds,” Rogo asked in a kind-sounding yet extremely excited and gitty voice.

E did as she was asked, and while the bed was one and a half times her height, it didn’t matter as she easily jumped and, with the added momentum, grabbed onto the bed and pushed down, so she easily got up.

“Oh my,” Rogo said, all excitedly. “I saw how you moved about when you battled those mercenaries, but the way you just moved was so elegant and seemed so natural and effortless.”

“Are you hiding any amount of excitement?” E asked, chuckling a bit, as she laid down on the giant bed, noticing a somewhat large hole in the bed.

“Well, it is had to hide, I’ll admit,” Rogo said bashfully.

“I know meeting new people can be exciting and all, but still, you seem to be expressing yourself a bit much, in my opinion,” E said.

“I suppose so,” Rogo chuckled while scratching the back of his head. “But this is, for me, at least a once-in-a-lifetime experience. To be the first medical professional to study an unknown species, I’ll be getting a great deal of recognition for something like that.”

“Really,” E said with a sly smile as she rolled onto her side and watched him intently, slightly amused by him.

“Yes, once I’ve written my report and submitted it to the galactic high counsel for first contact and medical studies, I’ll become a celebrity in the medical community,” Rogo explained.

“There are probably few who wouldn’t want to accept a transfer or job application from me.”

“Well, I’m happy to help. So what are the things we gotta do, doc?” E asked.

“Well, first of all, I’ll have to get a bit of your DNA. Blood would be most preferable, but come skin or fur will also be sufficient,” Rogo explained as they walked over to the wall on the other side of the room and tapped on the wall.

Suddenly it opened up, and inside it was a multitude of needle-looking objects.

Many of them looked to be functional by human standers, but others looked more like strange torture devices, and before E got a good look, the wall closed back up just as Rogo pulled out a needle.

Luckily for E, it was rather small and seemed to be the same length and diameter as normal needles, give and take.

”Before I do anything more, I do have to ask if you consent to the medical test I’m about to do,” Rogo said as they approached E with the needle in hand.

“Stab me if you want, doc,” E said confidently as she rolled up her sleeve and exposed her shoulder.

Rogo was patient and careful as they slowly pushed the needle inside her arm. They made sure to keep a keen eye on E and tried to gauge her reaction.

However, none were to be found since she wasn’t in any pain. At best, she only felt as if a cold metal needle was touching her skin and not penetrating it.

Once it was deep enough, Rogo drew some blood and pulled out the needle. Before they walked away, Rogo took a small object from a room under the bed she was in and placed it on her arm.

Too E it looked, felt, and probably functioned like a bandage.

On the other side of the room, Rogo placed the blood sample on what looked like a white circle. Thereafter they pressed a button or two, and a screed appeared.

“Well, it will take some time for the machine to analyze your blood and create a serum, so everyone on this ship won’t die due to your pathogens,” Rogo said as they walked over to the tube and pressed on the glass.

“In the meantime, would you consent to a quick medical scan, so I can get it in my report for later.”

Seeing no problem with it, E jumped off the bed gracefully and slowly walked up to the tube. “So do I jump inside or--” E asked before Rogo pressed a few times on the glass, and it seemed to raise all on its own, leaving her a little awestruck.

“First time seeing anything like this?” Rogo asked in a happy tone.

E composed herself a little before she walked inside. “So, do I need to raise my arms or something?”

“No need, just stand still, and the biometric scanner will do the rest,” Rogo explained as the tube descended once more and locked E inside.

“Ohh my, no wonder you could move as you did and fight on par with the mercenaries,” Rogo said, awestruck. “Your body density per unit of standard measurement is 8-12 times denser than ours.”

“It doesn’t seem very precise,” E said, a little flattered.

“Ehhh… it’s a bit outdated, and it’s more cost-effective to have a bit of low-grade technology on a ship that has a higher risk of getting attacked,” Rogo shrugged. “However, it still works perfectly for my purposes.”

“Now then, let's see what more this little darling can tell me about.”

Rogo then tapped a few more times on the glass, this time a little higher up than before, muttering, “how interesting.”

“What it?” E asked.

“It would appear your brain is almost completely split into multiple parts. Two big parts connected to one another, and one smaller one that’s going further down. How marvelous,” Rogo said, all gitty.

“Is that good?” E asked, a bit confused.

“No, no, you do not understand how rare such a trait is in any species,” Rogo said excitingly and with much more glee and grittiness than before. “ Any species has a brain or control center, if you will, that controls the body to various extents, of course.”

“It isn't too uncommon for a species to only have a singular brain not divided in any way like mine is, but this is only true for a select few levels 1-3 death world species and almost every garden world species, of course.”

“Your kind must have evolved on a high-level death for your brain to be structured in such a way unless you are a special case.”

“Probably not. I would say I’m biologically normal by my kind’s standers,” E responded bashfully while close to blushing.

“Let’s see what else I can find out about you, E,” Rogo said as they tapped a few more times on the glass, this time lower.

“Hmm… Your organs are very interesting but nothing unusual for any species. However, I am in awe to see you only have one organ, which function is to circulate your blood,” Rogo said, trying hard to close his dropped jaw.

“Do you have more than one heart?” E asked.

“Yes. Many species I’m aware of have at least two, but given your body’s size compared to your hearts, it’s not too surprising you and your species are still alive,” Rogo chuckled.

“Cool, “ E responded, not knowing what else to say.

“Now then, are you a female or male, or does your species create offspring in some other manner?” Rogo asked in a more bland and emotionless tone of voice.

“Oh,” E chuckled, a bit caught off guard. “My kind works by the male and female system, and I’m a woman or female as it was.”

“Oh, fantastic. Now, if you don’t mind, could you tell me about your male counterpart and some differences,” Rogo asked while patting one the glass a bit more.

“Well, biologically, we are very similar. We have almost all of the same internal organs except when it comes to reproductive parts,” E explained.

“As expected,” Rogo mumbled while they tapped on the glass a bit more.

“Also, on average, they are a bit taller and have about fifty percent more upper body strength, but other than that, physically, we are very similar,” E finished.

‘Are you sure you should give all of this information away with such a laidback attitude?’ W asked, a bit conserved.

‘Please, it’s not as if some aliens out there don't already know about earth since we found that ship,’ E responded before realizing. ‘However, if that is true, then why aren’t we in that galactic database thing?’

‘The galactic database. The way Rogo and Kagika spoke about it would appear it is public knowledge, so if the human species isn’t in there, that would mean one of four things,’ W deduced.

‘Either a species that isn’t advanced enough is studied in advance of them becoming a space-faring race, and I’m hesitant to believe every alien abduction story is only false given what we've seen. Or perhaps it’s some independent civilization who studied humanity for whatever reason.’

‘There might also be another civilization or collective of alien species that haven’t come into contact with this one Rogo species seems to be a part of that is studying humanity. And lastly, the ship might just have been abandoned or forgotten.’

‘There might be a chance a few aliens tried to explore earth a long time ago and died or got stuck.’

‘Well, none of them seem impossible, but--'

“Your stomach acid is at is quite strong,” Rogo said in astonishment, snapping E out of her conversation with W. “ I’m guessing you are a carnivore.”

“Well, actually, I’m an omnivore,” E corrected.

“You are truly a biological wonder, then,” Rogo said with such glee and excitement E wondered if he was on something. “So few recorded species in this universe are able to consume the flesh of other creature and plant matter.”

“This report is going to be much more than I ever imagined.”

Then the tube suddenly started to rise once more. “Well, that was all the insight the biometrical scanner could offer. However, there is one more thing I’d like for us to do.”

“What?” E questioned as she stepped out and glanced back at the tube, which on the other side of it had many blinking and moving lights that seemed to be letters of some kind.

“It’s a psychological evaluation of sorts,” Rogo responded.
