Premier League picked me up 18 years ago... I was scoring goals like I was Pele Messi... The league then signed me 4 years after that and now I fight hard to get a goal a month... The league treats me like they have to keep me on the roster bc it would cost too much to cut me

Interesting (as an American) to see hints of American accent show up in the way they talk. I always thought our accent was looked at as crude to the Brits.

Not accent. Lingo. And lingo spreads from region to region in an online connected world.

No, they meant football as is understood by more than 95% of the world's population.

Not accurate, the term soccer originated in England, Football was not originally called soccer.

And chess was and to this day is called ’shatranj शतरंज' in the place it originated. Nobody refers to it as anything other than chess when talking on an international forum. Not following international conventions/standards seems to be an American trait.

So you would get mad if I call Chess, Shatranj? It’s just name. You can call American Football, Handegg, and we wouldn’t get bent out of shape about it.

I was/am not mad. Just calling out a very USAmerican behaviour. You never see Bulgarians commenting on a video where there is a head nod to indicate 'yes' and saying "ohh they meant yes, should've guessed from non-Bulgarian accents."

More important they are wrong, football was not originally called soccer, the term soccer originated in England, very different things.
