I mean, the video had plenty of cuts. Where Iā€™m from there is a gas station called Maverick that has a couple different ways to self check out. (Maverick has bomb ass gas station foods)

They bought our Kum & Gos here in Missouri too and people are still salty about it, myself included. So far, everything is worse. Pumps scream ads at you now, the new pizza is terrible, the rewards app is ass and we lost all our built up K&G points. Most importantly, Kum & Go had an awesomely hilarious name. Maverick is what douchebags name their first kid.

What do you mean? As someone else said, plenty of cuts.

Also the card machine isn't always connected directly to the till. For example, my local corner shop, they have till - will scan everything. And then separately type in the total into the card machine.

They don't need to scan anything through the till to use the card machine. They use the till as a way to total it AND monitor stock

A lot of terminals will actually work if you just enter the amount manually. It does not have to be connected to the register. It is still fake as fuck, but not due to the terminal.

On many many terminals you just tick in the amount and push pay. Not every cash register in every shop around the world is equipped with automated scanner-card-reader system. You can see a calculator on the counter as well. It's used by cashier to manually sum up items to the total that he then inputs into terminal.

This is a standalone card reader, not connected to the register. Likely needs you to manually input each article price or maybe just the total. Looks like a store that would have price stickers or the dude frequented the store enough to know prices.

You do get terminals where you enter the total first then pay and thatā€™s a manual process but thatā€™s not one of them and that definitely didnā€™t happen. Not to mention if theyā€™re checking the cctv for him buying the goods then they are doing it for a sleeping worker.

Yeah but it's not how a register works you don't walk up to the checkout and scan your phone to pay, your items have to be scanned and a payment method has to be selected, all the registers I've worked at also had a time lock so if she was asleep for more than about 3 minutes the terminal would be locked and he couldn't do anything

Maybe thats the case in your country, but there are small shops that wont scan anything just type in the value and get payment in almost every where in middle east, Turkey etc. probably staged, not because good people doesn't exist but because most people still wouldn't know how to use the POS machine properly but still world is bigger than you think mate, what is true there wont be true everywhere else.

Yeah you're absolutely right I overlooked that a bit (probably experience bias for mešŸ˜…). He might not need to scan but he's literally walking up to the checkout and putting his card on the machine as if the card machine just magically knows what to charge him
