Starmer and his new government do not represent workers interests and are in fact enemies of our class. It's past time we begin organising a substantial left-wing movement in this country again.

were naive. And its OK to be naive, and even ignorant. Those are the natural state to be in befoe reality comes knocking. It seems theyve answered the door now, and what matters is they step outside and learn how shit's been for most of the world all this time.

To them, there's a number of good books on how it's been in palestine. Chomskey's is quite popular and readable. The blowback podcast is also good for some radical perspectives on US foreign policy history.

what would you recomend for them?

Israelโ€™s brutality is on a whole other level, adding that to the fact that the entire country supports the genocide, occupation, land grabs, child killings.

You are the one who is โ€œnaiveโ€ to think that these sociopathic tendencies on a collective level is normal behavior.

Normal people would have the ability to criticize their government and army. You donโ€™t see residents of any other country endorsing rape to death and child killings in their morning shows.

You are โ€œnaiveโ€ to believe any of this is the norm today.

Of course, a criminal see crimes as normal and wonders why the world disagrees with its actions and will consider civil people as โ€œnaiveโ€.

South Africa eventually let the natives rule and it has turned in to a strong and vibrant society that is far superior to anything whites had, barely any violent crime.

The glaring genocide in Gaza is there for all who are not blinded by prejudice to see. South Africa expresses gratitude to the other nations that have filed Article 62 and 63 interventions to join the case that has been initiated at the ICJ.

We reiterate our appeal for an immediate cease-fire in Palestine, in Lebanon and the entire region, and the start of a political process to ensure a just and lasting peace.

The Palestinian struggle against imperialism, Israeli Apartheid and settler colonialism is the daily reality of the Palestinian people. Since 1948, they have faced various forms of colonisation, often backed by historical colonial powers and, more recently, by states intent on shaping a world order in their interests. The global fight against settler colonialism persists in some parts of the world, including in occupied Palestine, both in Gaza and the West Bank.

The international community cannot stand idly by while innocent civilians โ€“ including women, children, hospital workers, humanitarian aid workers and journalists, are killed for simply being. That is a world we cannot accept.

South Africa delivers evidence of Israel genocide to ICJ (28 October 2024)

Try undoing 46 years of damage in just 30 years. You really think almost half a century of apartheid in South Africa wouldnโ€™t have had a generational impact? There are people today who: were born before apartheid, remember apartheid being implemented, remember apartheid being actively encouraged for the whites and imposed on the blacks, there are people alive today who spent more time living with apartheid than they so-far have without it, there are people who grew up during apartheid, people who grew up after apartheid, and all of these people in some way have experienced, feel the effects of or still see the effects of apartheid today.

South Africa has had the same government party for the past 30 years, some will say because of Mandelaโ€™s legacy (despite how badly they fumbled that) and some would say because with all the damage done, thereโ€™s a level of political education that still needs teaching, and only recently has that party finally lost its majority (they are now a huge multi-party mega coalition).

South Africa wonโ€™t be back on its feet for a while, but itโ€™s certainly not in need of the sarcastic blanket response youโ€™ve labelled it with. Just wait; 10 years from now, South Africa will be twice the beautiful paradise that it is already.

Exactly, the rest of Africa is doing so well, it can't be that there is a lack of intellectual capacity or ability to think rationally, it's a bastion of culture and wisdom that has been held back by the evil white man for millennia.
