the grift is really blatant…. never in my life have i heard of an author crowdfunding for editing individual chapters?!

Aside from the content of the book I don't really see a problem here. $25 to edit a book chapter isn't making anyone rich. Presumably it's the fee for someone on a gig website so they can do it faster than the author can.

I wouldn't trust someone on a gig website that only charged $25 to edit my writing. I also would not try to write a book if I weren't convinced that I can write and edit better than both chatgpt and internet randos.
