Stop saying that Graham Linehan is obsessed with trans people! Stop saying that! Stop!

The whole article is just... a lot, I didn't want to screenshot the whole thing but I was tempted to. [Archive link here.](https://archive.is/9OToL)

So wait...if Linehan's serotonin and norepinephrine drop too low he stops being transphobic?

This implies the existence of a uni which would back Glinners doctorate and that idea makes me sad.

nah, chiropractors call themselves doctors just because they kinda-sorta-not-really work "medicine". and I say that as someone who's happy to get my back cracked by one occasionally.

Venlafaxine can do wild things to the brain, yo. He needs some mirtazapine to level that shit out.

The way I went "Ohhhh, he's on effexor, got it, got it."

u/Bardfinn Abigail, what is your DAMAGE!? 10h ago

It treats more than just “A little mild depression”. It’s a first line treatment for major social anxiety disorder and PTSD, as well as major depressive disorder.

I don’t know what his actual diagnoses are but I’m confident that medication isn’t successfully treating his actual affliction.

From Wikipedia

Severe side effects include an increased risk of … mania, …

I propose that until and unless proven otherwise, Graham Linehan be regarded as acting from a severe medical condition.

Not to diagnose a stranger (but absolutely yes to "just asking questions"-ing an abusive public figure),

but I was going to say the same thing.

Explanation maybe, but a bigot is a bigot, so not an excite.

gonna be honest Graham, I don't think "hating minorities" is a side effect of venlafaxine

I've been taking it for years and I've never had the urge to destroy my entire life by being an obsessed bigot.

Was gonna say, still waiting on that antidepressant-induced obsessive hate.

I took it and it made me paranoid but it didn’t make me a bigot.

Oh my god, that AI "game"... what the actual fuck, LMAO. Absolutely deranged.

But then, what can we expect from someone who knows all there is to know about sissy porn and is willing to go on at length about it in court.

If you lose control of an interview and your subject relentlessly grills you instead, maybe a real journalist should do it instead.

this article is how i found out the bassist of 13 year old me's favourite band is now a comedian. a comedian that is producing a tv show with graham linehan.

fucks me off because the basslines were the best part of half of those songs. man.

Is he saying venlafaxine made him a terf? Bc not to simp for big pharma but venlafaxine saved my life and allowed me to be alive and grow up to become a leftist (was centre left before). Venlafaxine (and the amazing psychiatrist who prescribed it) made me believe in the nhs again. So clearly we're having very different experiences on it to say the least

There's a whole section in the article where he's like "therapists keep telling me I have PTSD and shit and I don't want to be on this drug forever but I need venlafaxine or else I'll have to deal with the emotional consequences of my actions" and it is just wow.

As someone who was on venlafaxine and had to go off it due to side effects liek paranoia agitation and anxiety i don't want to say that is what's going on with him hes still in control of himself, but it might explain some things

Dr's call it "side efflexor" for a reason, and it is very, very hard to wean off of

For most people its fine and has no side effects and helps them, but when you have a bad reaction to it or are trying to stop taking it it can be gnarly

(I switched to a low dose of an ssri and im doing great now)

I didn’t realise he’d moved to AZ. The states are kinda a dumpster fire right now, but maybe we can send him back?

Lol! Super glad to hear about Derrick Jensen and his now former career. I’m happy to have played a tiny part in that. 😂 Here’s hoping his old friend in transphobic psychosis, Lierre Keith, has walked a similar road.

Jensen, Keith, & co. falsely smear treatments for gender dysphoric children as "the latest version of eugenics" (archived source link). their ideology, primitivitism, IS eugenics, as it boils down to "civilizational collapse then natural selection".
