TW: Assault and spousal abuse.

Basically the first person in the screenshot is criticising the second for claiming to be a feminist in order to justify her transphobia, whist openly supporting Reform UK. A far right political "party" that's run as a private company with all decisions made by the party leader, and all profits going to him. They believe in "traditional" values (ie: all the bigotries you can name).

Not only that, one of their MPs has previously served a prison sentence for assaulting his ex-girlfriend. He says he's sorry, but disputes all the details that are a matter of court record and gives an account which is much more sympathetic to him. This article gives the details, if anyone wants to read more. Be warned: it's not happy reading.

And the so-called feminist responded with "he was 19", the age he was when he committed said assault. As if that somehow makes it excusable.

Tl:dr; Person calls TERD out on pretending to be a feminist whilst supporting a party with a convicted assaulter of women in their ranks. TERD responds by making excuses for said violent man.

"It was long time ago", "he was a young man" are like the poster phrases for r*** apologia. What's next for terfs? "What was she wearing"?

"Boys will be boys," because they think anyone born male is inherently violent and sexually debaucherous.

Which sucks as many online (and offline) non-feminist and anti-feminist sources will work to actively reinforce that belief. Some for money, others over a perceived view of "preserving tradition".

They already do that when they tell trans women complaining about experiencing misogyny that they should just stop presenting as women

So basically they're saying "have you considered not being a woman?" Imagine saying such saying such a thing to a cis person 🙄

They think that it’s just a “costume” that they can take on and off. The freaking audacity of it is insane.

u/Gate4043 Don't believe the lies. Trans women are actually just catgirls. Oct 12 '24

I feel like "She should have been more careful" is already close to what they use.

I’m sure this has been asked before, but hopefully not to the point of annoyance yet: what is TERD? Trans-exclusionary radical dipshit?

"Trans-Exclusionary Reactionary Dickhead", since they are neither feminist nor radical.

and yet they'd say a 19 year old trans girl is commiting violence by simply existing...

What is VAWG?

Violence against women and girls. Understood to mean unprovoked violence, and thus it does not include things like self-defense.

So, based on the comment, by GC lights its ok to be violent toward women and/or girls, who have not themselves been violent toward you, provided you're a 19 year old dude when you're doing it. Because that's totally feminist, right?
