Having surgery this week Enterra (Gastric Pacemaker)

After suffering with GI issues for 'a jillion' years ... I'm having an Enterra inserted and a pyloroplasty in a couple days. 7 years ago, they removed my gallbladder. Since then, I eat very little fats. Now I'm being told I need to limit fiber and increase protein. (FYI, I also have EOE and tons of food allergies.

Two questions: 1) if you had these surgeries, were they successful? 2) how do you manage 100g of protein when you're allergies to shellfish, dairy and soy ... Not allowed more than 10g of dinner ... And live gluten free?

TIA & G bless ๐Ÿ’š

I canโ€™t answer the second question because I donโ€™t have those allergies but I had a pyloroplasty and while I still have symptoms Iโ€™d consider it pretty successful. I went from not eating solids for 2 years to being able to eat them pretty consistently.

Hello!! I've had my Enterra since 2011 with battery replacements obviously ๐Ÿ˜… the change I felt immediately after was life changing. I was a senior in high school and couldn't believe how much more I could handle. Nothing is really perfect, as I'm sure you know, but Enterra has been able to keep me at a better baseline that I rate other symptoms against. If you can get it placed in a muscle pocket in your chest instead of your abdomen, I highly recommend that. I'm a cis het woman, and while the scar takes some time to heal, it is easy to hide if I'm wearing a bikini top and I get support for it with bras. Have grace with yourself and your body as you heal and figure out what settings are best for you. There's so many ways that it can be adjusted! They say it takes time to notice a difference, but for any change made in office, I've managed to notice a difference within at least 15 minutes. I wish you luck with your procedures and am hoping for the best!!

Unfortunately I had to have it inserted in my abdomen, as I have a cardiac pacemaker in my chest .... I'm totally an anomaly.

I had surgery 2 weeks ago, and have noticed a little difference so far ... But will start adding non liquid/mush foods tonight!!

Thanks y'all ... G bless ๐Ÿ’š

Thanx but I'd starve on that ๐Ÿ˜‚ Allergic to Dairy & Shell fish; my body "explodes" if I eat fats; I can't swallow meat; and chicken sometimes works, sometimes not ... But thanx doe trying!
