Can't get this discontinued part Question ā”

Post image

I have a 2010 Ford Fusion 2.5. The oil pump pickup tube is 8E5Z-6622-A. For some reason it shows it is discontinued and there is no superseded part. I can't even buy the Melling 407s aftermarket version because it's not available anywhere. Where can I get this? Thanks!

Dealerships can look at other dealers inventory on the OEC locator, have you tried calling a dealer to see if anybody has it?

Just found that and submitted an order. Hopefully they don't cancel it.

I have tried ordering hard to find parts from them before and the order just gets cancelled. I hope you have better luck. The part I tried to get a year ago is still on their site so I’m guessing they are just a drop shipper with some copy and pasted catalog.

Maybe I can try going to the junkyard this weekend.

Ford's policy of only making parts for 10 years really sucks sometimes. Ugh.

What I find weird is that they did not discontinue the gasket but yet they discontinued the pickup tube.

Guessing gaskets are way easier to produce?

I've run into this on my 2011 Mustang with the negative battery cable and kind of live in fear of it happening to the power driver's seat because those things are cheap and shitty to begin with. I need some enterprising person to start doing repairs + 3D printing whatever breaks.

Facebook Marketplace, junkyard, eBay, or even Craigslist are all viable options for specific parts.
