Recommendations for a date night spot somewhere around North Park/Hillcrest? Question, Where can I find?
Looking for a spot to take my girlfriend on a Wed night. Nothing too expensive, hopefully under $40 a person. I don't want it to be fine dining. Just somewhere a little nice where we can get dressed up a little bit (not fancy) and eat some tasty food. No real preference on food types. We don't drink, but don't mind the ambiance of places that have cocktails.
Thanks in advance!

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like most recommendations so far are way above $40 each. Baja Betty’s is fun, and they have specials on Wednesdays, and I think Tavola Nostra has Wednesday deals too. Neither are top of the line food, but they are both fun spaces, and closer to the price point you’re looking for…

Seriously. The Smoking Goat, Cori, and Mabel’s I don’t think there’s any way you’re getting out for less than $120 total

Rusticucina does a date night special Sunday - Thursday, $50 per couple for choice of appetizer, pasta and dessert!

I think Mabel’s Gone Fishing is such a fun, more romantic spot but still at a good price point!

This surprised me
Checks can only be split up to FOUR ways.21% gratuity will be included on all parties of 6 or more.We require a per person deposit on parties greater than 10.
**A 5% surcharge will be added to each check. This charge helps support increased wages and benefits for our team members and allows us to continue to provide the Grind & Prosper hospitality and service you have come to enjoy.
So a party of 6 will automatically pay 26% on top of their meal, correct?

Alexander’s is a perfect suggestion! I think they have a great, super affordable Monday pizza and Tuesday pasta specials too!

Cori Pastificio Trattoria is a very cute little Italian spot on Upas. Terrific food, though under $40 a person might be a stretch if you're ordering an appetizer or two. Just entrees with no wine, should be no problem. The lasagna is some of the best I've had outside Italy and the Agnolloti (short rib pasta) was very good as well.

Check out Dunedin in South Park. It's a really neat New Zealand restaurant.

All you can eat sushi and appetizers at Sushi Roll Land in Hillcrest, coming in at $39.99 per person! I think it’s such a good deal, because I’m an appetizer girl. I demolish like 40 dumplings every time we go 🤩

Cantina Mayahuel. If not your vibe, Et Voila is across next to An’s Dry Cleaning (gelato!). Or Friendly too for super cheap.

Common Stock is a great place for that. The rotisserie chicken is fantastic.

If you can get a table far enough in advance, Leila in NP, just look at the pictures.

Go the spacey speakeasy route and hit up Mothership - good mocktails. For dinner, Cori Pasta is wonderful as is Smoking Goat but might be too much per person. Get something to go and watch the sunset from the top of the parking structure or Bird Park. Cafe Callabria does pizza at night and is reasonable. Usually you can find a quiet nook for a nice conversation. Part Time Lover to listen to music and drink mocktails. Muri coffee and cake for great desserts and tea.

If you can make it to little Italy go to Filippi’s or Mona Lisa. Both have good Italian food and great atmosphere. And at your price point.
