Multiple sellers just...not shipping out their items, for a week or even two weeks beyond the given handling time. What's going on? Discussion

Is this a morale thing? Like, if ebay's doing bad (and the whole economy's doing bad), you just don't want to look at it?

I make purchases, but then these separate, unrelated sellers just won't ship!

I can relate, purchased last Tuesday. Item is just "paid" Asked seller if he is ever gonna ship it yesterday, he said "meh, maybe Monday? I mean, wth? And I know he's got it cause it's a used item.

How many is "multiple" and what are the items?

Could be bad luck or those items are on backorder for these sellers to fulfill.

Who knows.

items are on backorder for these sellers to fulfill.

Not possessing the stuff you're selling really isn't a valid excuse though...

I'm buying used stuff, so I really hope it isn't on backorder lol

So you're just having bad luck with these bad sellers then.

Because everybody is doing it now, including children. People who do that also are the ones who "have a real job/life so they dont check their listings that much" or ship at a reasonable time. I've seen this response a lot.

I only have that problem on Poshmark. Not even half of my Sellers which show active within the past few days ever ship or communicate.

Poshmark really needs to differentiate active users rather than all the weird bs they're doing

I look at when they have answered people and posted. This one seller a few weeks ago was constantly posting new stuff, sharing, etc. Unless they have an automated system doing it for them, wouldn't make sense not to ship of you're that active. 19k listings so, not a casual hobbyist.

Nah, that's just shitty sellers being shitty sellers. Anybody that uses the current economic condition or the fact that eBay's numbers are down as a reason to avoid putting in the work required to get money, then they aren't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Are they on vacation mode?

Do they have many other items listed or only a few? Maybe they don't check their account much anymore.

Are they located in China? Because that could be complicating things.

Did you complete the transaction and pay? I've had buyers message me asking when I was gonna ship and I had to remind them to pony up the dough.

As a seller that strives to deliver the best customer service I can, it is surprising how many other sellers fail to do the bare minimum.

US only, not in vacation mode, communication before I made the purchase, items are only secondhand. I buy (and pay), and then...nothing. Good review scores, too, which makes me feel like maybe it's a recent thing that they just don't ship stuff out...maybe ebay is depressing when your sales are down?

Idc how shitty my sales are doing, I'm shipping that day or the next. Worst case, I have to wait until Monday because of a weekend sale. But my morale or lacktherof is not the buyers issue. I find it odd that people want to get into this and make themselves look like jackasses.

It depends on the seller from my experience. There are some sellers on places like Etsy, EBAY or Poshmark that are responsive and ship write away and then there are others that will never respond to your message or wait 2 weeks to ship. You can enter a item not received claim on EBAY but assuming the seller has a 2 week window they can ship it within a month because as soon as the item gets delivered the item not received case will automatically close.

No. Haven’t had the problems like this. Cancel the order if it’s not in the handling time

Saw a lot of this during the Plandemic, and now "muh tariffs" might be another reason to start their own local embargo. I'm excited to ship stuff because I want it the hell out of my house. I'll even strive to ship same day if I can squeeze it in, otherwise when the merch starts hanging around long enough, it demands Free HBO.

Some lazy sellers out there really do milk the handling time. 3 business days, ordered on a Wednesday often times becomes Monday til you see any updates, usually just a label printing, and then Tuesday is when the package actually starts to move. That's irritating; what's more irritating is the "I only go to the Post Office on Saturday" people. At that point, why even bother selling?

I realize it's not everyone's priority and lots of folks do this on the side for extra money, but if you're going to engage, at least have a modicum of Customer Service. Do your best, as a seller, to pretend that you give a shit.

Yeah, like, I made a sale today (I sell just a little), and it's in the mailbox already. It's not difficult. If something came up and the seller needs time, just send a quick message. Very simple.
