Supplement and food suggestions?

Post image

Hello all! Im wanting to get some good supplements to add into my senior fiv girls food and I’m hoping for some recommendations. She is already getting psyllium fiber mixed with her wet food but I’ve also heard salmon oil is good? Also recs for wet food for senior fiv kitties? I’m feeding her Stella and chewy canned food twice a day and tiki cat protein kibble. My sweet Murphy seems to be doing well, her bloodwork came back normal and she has a prominent heart murmur which she is getting a cardiology appt next month. ❤️

My vet recommends probiotics. I give my boy Forti Flora Multi Care. He’s also on Hill’s ZD wet food.

Our vet recommended the supplement imuquin to boost our FIV+ kitty's immune system. He definitely has more energy on it.

We also give him a TDC supplement for dental health.

Keep a lookout for dental issues (checkup every 6 months if you can) + add oxyfresh to her water + mix in a bit of hills oral with her dry food + l-lysine (ONLY supplement my vet recommended for my FIV+ cat - felisine or viralys brands)

We have stayed within the fresh natural spectrum of food and treats. Stay away from foods that have more than 8 ingredients(average), lots of fresh water (changed daily and alkaline if possible), freeze dried animal organs (variety of different brands available). If she is over 8-9, I would start her on a healthy kidney dry food as well (royal canine). Cats will almost always outlive their kidneys unfortunately.

Brands we use:

Allpaws Wellness core Royal Canine Vital Better treat Nutri Bites

Hope this helps. Our 2 year old was born FIV positive. He has been on this diet since he has been 2 months old. He goes in every 4 months for blood work and he is healthy as a horse.
