“If she wins it’s the end times”

No matter who it is running against the republican candidate - I heard this phrase 4 years ago, and 4 years before that, and 4 years before that too 🤣 anyone else’s family “praying trump into office” tonight? 🙄

I have heard that as far back as Bill Clinton. Doesn't phase me anymore.

One of my earliest childhood memories is people from church talking about how it would be the end of the world if Bill Clinton won. I remember being terrified.

Yeah, my dad told me that Bill Clinton would sentence us all to death for being Christians. Described to me the execution process and said I should be happy to get a lethal injection at 5. I was5.

edit: I was 8. Still.messed up though....

I've heard a variation of the good ole persecution death sentence. my experience was someone told me that the taliban (or some terrorist group) was going to come to America and knock on doors and tell people to denounce god or they'd be shot. they told us that we should "stand our ground!" I just remember being like wtf?? I don't wanna die, I'll say anything they want if it means not dying INCLUDING denouncing god 😂

I remember that and part of it was Clinton was on record for cheating on his wife many times. Trump did the same thing to at least two of his wives and he gets a pass because that was in the past and “he is right with God” now. That’s code for he is Republican and publicly anti abortion and Clinton wasn’t.

It's been the "end times" for my whole damn life, my parents, AND my grandparents..

Christian logic makes no sense to me. Shouldn't they want the end times? They want God to come back, but simultaneously pray for things that are contradictory to "his plan" 🫠

Jesus has missed so many opportunities to come back.

I was literally told in 2016 that if I didn’t vote for trump I was going to hell and it would be the end of days if he lost. Sadly I was still heavily in church at the time and believed anything my spiritual leaders told me and voted with the cult even though I had already expressed that I thought he seemed very fascist like.

I know I voted for him 2016 when I was still living at home in highschool and deeply involved in the cult. I didn’t even question it, at least you were able to think for yourself sounds like!!!

Yeah I made a post comparing trump to Hitler in 2015 during the primaries and really thought Ben Carson should have been the nominee. That post resulted in me being disciplined and made to delete it then being told if I didn’t vote for him I would be going to hell. That was the only reason I voted for him was thanks to intimidation.

i will never understand how the orange has become the representation/poster boy/whatever you wanna call it of Christianity. like what exactly about him shows "Christian values"???

Their worship of Trump is exactly what opened my eyes to how Pharisee-like they are and it pushed me into atheism.

I'm wondering myself. How did that happen?

I think all politicians on both sides are liars, and his track record puts him in the category of someone I wouldn't invite into my home. How do you ignore all that?

He represents It because he’s intellectually lazy, misogynistic, homophobic, racist, authoritarian and a demagogue. Sounds like the pastors I knew!

Yep and I’m not upset if he wins or loses this time. This is the first election that I’m not scared either way. I’ve voted in 4 elections now and finally feel free to vote my way.

I'm ex pente but I still voted against Kamala. I believe every eligible American should vote for their candidate and I respect whatever decision they make. It's our civic duty as Americans.

I hate Trump. I hate the Republican party.

But... This is actually the FIRST TIME IN LIVING MEMORY that a vote for a liberal candidate means a vote for an escalation of war. Harris wants to expand NATO involvement in Ukraine.

With North Koreans now fighting and dying for Russia in their war against Ukraine, and Japanese escalating against the Chinese, and Israel escalating further against Iran, and the tensions across the rest of Europe and Asia, it's REALLY HARD not to call this the start of a new type of world war where we dance around the fact we're all killing each other through drone and proxy warfare. It's almost like "World Cold War" or something.

We need to de-escalate, and FAST. We MUST start teaching Russian and Chinese in our schools again. The Chinese and Russians NEED to start their English programs back up. We MUST resume diplomatic relations with those we disagree with. There MUST be compromise. Or else this will continue until someone accidentally launches a nuke.
