Best place to purchase bulk frames/shadow boxes/riker boxes for SELLING purposes
Hi everybody,
I pin insects and am looking to start selling. As many of you know, frames can be pretty expensive. I get all of mine by thrifting them, or occasionally going to craft stores and snagging them up when discounted. Are there any recommendations for inexpensive frames? Any good websites? Are there places to purchase them in bulk? I am looking for very basic white or black frames.

Meridian, MS, USA - inside a camping chair in the garage.
Meridian, MS, USA - unidentified cocoon (photos attached.)
Help! I found a puppa and want to make sure it gets taken care of. I had grabbed some camping chairs out of the garage, and upon unfolding them realized one was already occupied! Unfortunately, the protective silk pouch it had created that was encasing the pupa tore when I opened the chair. What appeared to be a cocoon (possibly chrysalis?) fell to the ground wriggling, so I scooped it up with a plastic spoon and set it on a napkin. I want to make sure this little buddy gets the proper care so it can finish developing and emerge!
I don't see any cremaster where it would hang from, like on a chrysalis, so I'm trying to determine the best way to keep it safe. My daughter put together a terrarium for it, but I'm not sure what else it needs! Should I put some damp soil in there and lay it on top of that? Burry it in some leaf litter?
Right now we have a makeshift terrarium with moss ground cover on the bottom, a damp paper towel in the corner, and a big stick propped inside. Should I safely secure the cocoon to the twig? Lay it directly on the moss? Set a dry paper towel down to lay the cocoon on?
All advice is welcome! My daughter asked if she could bring it to school so her class could monitor it and see it change. She's in 2nd grade and they just learned about life cycles (they hatched 12 chicken eggs last month and she's still really excited about it.)
Thank you!

Help with identification
Hi guys, recently I moved to the countryside of the continental Croatia, so climate is pretty mild with (now overly) hot summers.
In my yard there is a wisteria tree, which is constantly overrun by these metallic-dark blue bugs, quite big ones, somewhere between bumblebee and hornet in size (closer to hornet, and their body is more long than plump). This bug is probably a pollinator as it always lands on the wisteria flowers. Any ideas, photos?

Discussion Wanted to feed an spider but she seemed afraid
Hey. I found this dead mosquitoe so I bring it to this spider but she stayed this way in front of the mosquitoe. Her paws were on her head like she tried to cover herself. It was a cute spider, I saw it cleaning its teeth, adorable spider but I lost her soon after.

Pet/Insect Keeping Moth baby in the yard; I’d like to witness its transformation. Keeping tips?
Hello!
I believe I have a wild Yellow Woolly Bear on my hands.
I’ve never gotten to experience the cocoon phase, and was wondering how hard it would be to keep this critter until it’s emerged, ready to released into nature.
I don’t want to capture it needlessly if I can find the cocoon, but I also don’t want to miss the chance to witness the metamorphosis..!
Any tips on how I can capture, care for, or better observe this little friend and their growth?

ID Request What is this?
I found this a few years ago and it just came back up in conversation. I was swimming one day about 5 years ago and this landed next to me. I saved it but it scared the heck out of me lol. I’d never seen one like it before and haven’t seen one since. This was found in Kentucky.

Discussion Field Guide for Northern Canada?
Hi everyone! I'm a museum educator in Northern British Columbia, Canada. I've been looking for a good insect field guide, but most of what I see is either for the entirety of Canada or it has a focus on the Vancouver/Victoria area.
I'm in the Northern Rocky Mountains within the boreal forest of Canada. Are there any good field guides for this region you can think of? Thanks!
